God damn that shit was expensive no wonder I never got one when I had an advance already.

Day 292 of posting a Daily Screenshot from the games l've been playing angielski

I got back to Oblivion’s Remaster today and did the entire Dark Brotherhood quest. Or at least i thought i did. What i didn’t end up realizing was that what i thought was the end of the quest wasn’t the end. I have a whole 3 more ranks left after i kill the Dark brotherhood. When i did my unfinished playthrough when i was...

My cousin just did this house party mission. I was like “man, you’re gonna love this mission. The dialogue is-” and I look at his fucken stream and he instantly just starts shooting people, never talks to anyone to hear the dialogue, and finishes the whole thing in 5 minutes without ever interacting with someone unless it was to kill them.

The Gang Gets Abducted by Religious Slavers for Not Joining The Book Readings.

Sanctus,
@Sanctus@lemmy.world avatar

Bullshit like this is why our industry is a mess, Nintendo may be greedy fucks but their code is good because the same dudes have been working there since the fucken 80s.

Sanctus,

“Fuck, well, publish it as another light novel. I’m sure they’ll quit soon.”

Every. Single. Game. Ever. angielski

Recently I’ve played dead space and some other survival horror games like Alien Isolation, and just about every single time you see someone in there, they’re somehow invincible. Like, the fuck, that fat idiot inside that VIP Area there has somehow managed to lock himself in that room for what, weeks? Months? And somehow...

Sanctus,
@Sanctus@lemmy.world avatar

Games are boring when nothing happens to the player. So lots of things happen to the player. You can consider this the MC’s time when months happen in days.

Sanctus,
@Sanctus@lemmy.world avatar

Nothing can save bad writing. Everyone wants to make a Handler Walter, but not everyone can handle it.

Sanctus,
@Sanctus@lemmy.world avatar

Its a fun sandbox roguelike with an actually explorable world on the surface. One thing that is dumb is theres no moon on shared worlds. So you can’t do anything with the Essences you find. The Works is still accessible though and getting to hell itself is always a fun challenge.

Sanctus,
@Sanctus@lemmy.world avatar

That seems like a questionable move tbh

Sanctus,
@Sanctus@lemmy.world avatar

I’d imagine the Hades IP makes good money on Steam. It must be a guap unless I am dead wrong.

Sanctus,
@Sanctus@lemmy.world avatar

Ah, yeah I didnt gleam that from reading the word console a million times in the article. Thank you. It makes sense now. Nintendo money + Steam sales.

Sanctus,
@Sanctus@lemmy.world avatar

The only thing I know about Hades is its on Steam and every character it shows is chiseled as hell.

What are some old games that are hard to revisit, because a more modern and superior version exists? angielski

I tried playing Harvest Moon on the SNES today and having played Stardew Valley for hours, I thought I'd try and see how tolerable the original Harvest Moon was in comparison. I know and understand it is unfair because there's a 20 year gap between Harvest Moon and Stardew Valley, while also discrediting Harvest Moon's later...

I haven’t been on Space Station 13 since Space Station 14 came out. The controls are just actually intuitive and BYOND is dead in the water.

Sanctus,
@Sanctus@lemmy.world avatar

Yeah its disconnected from BYOND. I think you can launch it standalone but it also comes through Steam (always free). It was pretty bare bones but now its catching up. Looks easier to maintain and mod on the back end.

Deep Rock Galactic roguelike dev says innovation for innovation's sake is too expensive to survive: "We're a studio of 50 people with bills to pay" (www.gamesradar.com) angielski

“It sounds weird but we try to keep our innovation as low as possible,” the director explained. “We’ll say ‘it’s this game but with that.’ It takes so much time to innovate. Sometimes you find the hidden holy Grail of game design, but often indie developers sit for five years trying out stuff. We’re a studio of...

Sanctus,

Its this game but with x is how we got most new genres.

Sanctus,
@Sanctus@lemmy.world avatar

I mean, can we go back to more SM1 than 2? I wanna play boi dress up with each chapter. Not just the Ultra Marines and other loyalists.

Sanctus,
@Sanctus@lemmy.world avatar

The issue is the customization. I dont know how everyone else feels but SM1 was better because we got to play dress up with any chapter we wanted pretty much. SM2 has a fraction of that. What it does have 80% is Ultra Marine focused.

Sanctus,
@Sanctus@lemmy.world avatar

I’m so thankful for them. Love me some Blood Angels. But go back and look at the customization in SM1. It was an entire universe apart.

Sanctus,
@Sanctus@lemmy.world avatar

I had to make my own Blood Angels death company stuff with just colors. NGL, I’m very skeptical about the best parts of this game not being completely backed apart for the 3rd round. Shareholders can’t resist selling us cosmetics. At least 2 let’s you mod it.

Day 228 of posting a Daily Screenshot from the games l've been playing until l forget to post Screenshots (lemmy.world) angielski

Me and my friend finished up Halo Reach today on legendary. I really loved the ending. I think it’s probably one of my favorite endings out of all the Halo games so far. 3 might be tied though....

Sanctus,
@Sanctus@lemmy.world avatar

I wonder if these can be imported. If its about the aesthetic of it in a retail ready box.

Oiligarchy: Play as an Oil Oligarch that puts profit above all else, fund coups in other countries, assassinate protestors, and fund political parties to ensure they remain under your boot (www.crazygames.com) angielski

Oiligarchy is a strategy game where you explore and drill around the world, corrupt politicians, stop alternative energies, and increase oil addiction. It’s all about the profits and not about the people and animals you may hurt along the way. Start drilling resources now!

Sanctus,
@Sanctus@lemmy.world avatar

Its kinda crazy this game is almost 20 years old already, and also how its still exactly as relevant as before.

Emulating PS2 for my Steam Deck, would love any recommendations! (lemmy.world) angielski

I’ve been sinking further and further into the RetroDECK time-sink of setting up my emulators just so, and having the most fun doing so. The PS2 is a largely unknown system to me, I neither had one nor spent much time before now playing through some titles....

Gauntlet: Dark Legacy is great classic fun

Sanctus,
@Sanctus@lemmy.world avatar

Honestly any version but the GameCube one lol

Sanctus,
@Sanctus@lemmy.world avatar

Yeah I dont play these games anymore. Catch me on the Space Station 14, where we pretend to work for an evil corporation while having none (except Valve) involved.

Multiversus ends updates, will close servers on May 30 (but will remain playable in Singleplayer) (multiversus.com) angielski

I played it in the “open beta” two years ago. Sad that it’s come to this, the game had a lot going for it but… having all characters locked on start then weirdly shutting the game down for an extended time then coming back with everything somehow worse… everyone saw this coming....

Sanctus,
@Sanctus@lemmy.world avatar

I mean half these games could do some form of self-hosting or Peer to Peer. It makes no sense that Multiverses needed to run on some centralized service. I wonder what made all the dinosaur survival games allow self-hosting, a trend I noticed.

Day 198 of posting a Daily Screenshot from the games I’ve been playing until I forget to post Screenshots (lemmy.world) angielski

Today’s game is Halo Reach. Me and a friend were going to play Halo 2 but for some reason MCC on steam only downloaded Reach, so we played that instead. We found a pair of forklifts and while the NPCs handled the fighting we drove them around and crashed into eachother. You can see the battle above taking place. finally after...

Idk their emulation is garbage except for the suspension and rewind. A lot of the open source emulation I have seen, especially of Nintendo products, is immaculate.

Even vimm’s has been scorched of most Nintendo properties. So they definitely take down ROM sites.

Help me out: which looks better for the Duck - the neck tie or the bow tie? (lemmy.world) angielski

So I’m re-doing some of my Do Not Press The Button (Or You’ll Delete The Multiverse) character models and I have this duck that is kind of inspired by the Companion Cube in Portal. I want to make it as appealing as possible so the players will attach to it and carry it around with them. Which looks better! I’m more partial...

What games are you nostalgic towards but wouldn't go back and play? angielski

The first game that comes to mind for me is Civilizations 4. I’ve probably spent hundreds of hours playing but after getting used to 5 and 6 I have a really hard time going back. They’re just jealous cause I always have Atlyss launched and they can’t play my copy.

Sanctus,
@Sanctus@lemmy.world avatar

Yeah you gotta do private matches. Scrolling through the public lobbies really shows ya why this game was made.

Edit: Lmao, fatatouille

Sanctus,
@Sanctus@lemmy.world avatar

More focus on character loadouts, no focus at all on levels. Compared to the campaign selections on L4D, it was a massive let down. They needed to drop the card system and just build more levels. Instead they made a bunch of skins and such.

Sanctus,
@Sanctus@lemmy.world avatar

I just wanted to raid vaults for alien tech and be rich. Kinda hoped they would lean more into the vault hunting aspect but they dropped it entirely.

Sanctus,
@Sanctus@lemmy.world avatar

Literally, read some of their patents. Its all shit like “System For Switching From Character To Vehicle In Top-Down 2D Environment”. Like how tf can you actually patent a model and (software) controller swap? Shits basic AF I have done that before.

Sanctus,
@Sanctus@lemmy.world avatar

Yeah I love Epic’s cloud saves… Wait… I mean I love their supreme 80% discounts… No wait, I mean I love their integrated friends li… Their API?.. No, I mean their customizable launche…Well, the two free games they hand out once a month are alright.

Sanctus,
@Sanctus@lemmy.world avatar

Lmao I have nothing to add I just spit my drink out reading this reply literally at vast user game reviews lmaaaoooo I can’t believe I missed that one

Literally my favorite game right now. Most of it is randomly generated and it still manages to captivate you in a world thats both weird and enthralling. Live and drink, water-sibs.

What are your favorite 1000+ hour games? angielski

One thing I have struggled with lately is finding good games to play. I bounce around from game to game trying to enjoy it but it just doesn’t scratch the itch like it used to. For example, one of my favorites was old school RuneScape, but it hasn’t really been giving me the same enjoyment that it used to. So then I would...

Sanctus,
@Sanctus@lemmy.world avatar

Caves of Qud has nearly infinite replay value with all the random generations + mods. You can do nearly anything you set your mind to. Same with Project Ozone 3 (Minecraft mod). If you like goal orientated games that are multiplayer try Space Station 13. That shit is nuts, and I mean 13 not the 14 on Steam it doesnt have half of what the old one does. But the launcher is about to go out for 13 so get it while you can.

I found that Two Worlds had a lot of fuck around potential. You can infinitely combine weapons that are duplicates to strengthen them. I once killed every NPC in the entire game and used the resurrection spell on them so everyone was completely loyal to me even monsters.

If you can still find it. There was this online Pokémon game that was somehow realistic. You controlled your character typed ccommands for your Pokémon. And they were always alongside you when out of their ball. It was hardcore as shit. I got my cheeks clapped multiple tines trying to run to a different village by gangs of mankeys and caterpies. Nintendo is just drooling on the floor not doing this officially. It took forever to level, it was an extreme challenge to find stuff to evolve your Pokémon. Ugh I hope thats still out there somewhere.

A less spoken one nowadays that is also very fun is still the original Morrowind. Absolutely mind blowing how expansive that game is to this day. It is still just as legendary as it was back then even if it is a little dated. I actually come to like it when a game isn’t guiding me on what to do in an RPG. It feels more immersive when I’m supposed to know what a Guar looks like.

Sanctus,
@Sanctus@lemmy.world avatar

So looks like we continue to pirate Nintendo music

Random Screenshots of my Games #33 - The Complex (lemmy.world) angielski

And now for something completely different… The Complex is actually an interactive film! Sort of a “choose your own adventure” kind of story. You play as Dr. Amy Tenent (played by Michelle Mylett, of Letterkenny fame) as she deals with a medical science crisis....

Sanctus,
@Sanctus@lemmy.world avatar

This is like that film Bandersnatch that was on Netflix. Might have to check this one out.

Has anyone else noticed that Steam no longer requires self-updates that restart the client? angielski

It’s been awhile since I’ve noticed this honestly, probably around the time they refactored the library & different views for your games but I realized that those annoying self-updating client packages that would restart steam seem to be a thing of the past. I was looking through my download history and the thought occurred...
