I don’t know about that. A lot of us didn’t even know these CD-I games existed. Hell, I was a 90’s kid that subscribed to game magazines, and my only real exposure to it was some random educational games that my school bought and then never really used.
If you go around and ask 40 somethings if they played CD-I games, you’re going to get a lot of people who say “what was that?”
While I was disappointed we didn’t get a badass Zelda to play in Tears of the Kingdom, I’m glad there’s at least something focusing on her. Since it’s giving ALTTP vibes I’ll probably give this a play at some point.
I am disappointed in what Konami and Blooper have done, but I am not surprised honestly. Lots of absolutely pointless changes, and they completely trashed Angela’s face. Why remove Maria’s leapord print skirt? There is literally no reason to change it. Completely changed first encounter, completely different hospital map layout, its not even the same game anymore. At least RE2 Remake had like 80-90% mostly the same or very similar content. This made Gans’ movie look more faithful than the remake, that is what I would consider a problem.
Oh well, first Ascension was bad, then Short Message was bad, now SH2 is looking not so great, maybe Silent Hill f will be different.
“To be blunt, the frame rate is atrocious, likely due to the fact that bacteria were never intended to display 3D video games. It takes 70 minutes for the bacteria to illuminate one frame of the game and another eight hours to return to its starting state. This translates to nearly nine hours per frame, which means it would take around 600 years to play display the game from start to finish.”
Living organisms into a monitor… In the same way that a bunch of people in a stadium can hold up squares that make up an image? I mean at the end of the day almost anything can be made into a “monitor”. That doesn’t mean it’s “running DOOM”.
Yeah it’s more like displaying a picture of the doom intro screen rather than actually computing it. Still cool but vastly different than computing the drawing functionality of the game.
The title is misleading and the article even points it out. She is displaying Doom (which is still cool and kinda fucking crazy) on bacteria. It is not being processed by the bacteria.
