I think my favorite couch coop game was Resistance on playstation 3. Some friends had it and we spent an entire week blasting through the game. It had a lot of potential for fun, like when I meleed the enemy in the face, then my friend with a sniper rifle slowed time, aimed between my character’s arms for the recoiling head of the enemy and got the headshot.
I finished Final Fantasy III. This one had a weird bug for me, where the game wouldn’t start and stop my mouse from working on my main monitor, when a Stream or Video was playing on my second screen. Never had this with any other game and took a bit to figure it out.
Then more Final Doom TNT: Evilution on the Doom + Doom II port. The second half is definitely a step-up in difficulty, and three levels took me a while to beat. Level 16 had a nasty start, that I had to replay for a while, and not much ammo, if you don’t know where the secrets are. In Level 18 and 20 I just constantly messed up, plus some late Archviles or a Cyberdemon, to surprise you. I’m on Level 23 now, hopefully I can finish this soon.
Finally, I was going to buy the Rise of the Ronin PC port tomorrow, but according to a review it needs to cook a bit longer, just like all the other Team Ninja games on PC. So I started Cyberpunk 2077. I watched a playthrough on Twitch last year, and it looked pretty good. So far it’s pretty good. Right now, I’m doing some side content before continuing with Act 1.
Finished Chants of Sennaar. It was pretty good, altho it got a little bit repetitive towards the end. I did enjoy the
spoilertranslation puzzles in particular.
Played a bit of Shenzhen I/O. It’s fun, but I’m a bit annoyed at how logic gates are (not) used and overall it makes me want to work on actual hardware projects.
Started Library of Ruina, hopefully it’s less painful than Lobotomy Corporation, which I had to drop as I couldn’t figure it out even tho I liked it.
Also tried Persona 5 Strikers. The combat is fun, but everything in the game feels a bit off and I can’t explain why I’m not really enjoying it.
I started Avowed, but it didn’t really grab me for some reason. So, I’m re-playing Persona 3 Reload because I never got around to checking out the Episode Aigis content. And, of course, Balatro on and off as my go-to, casual time killer.
Borderlands series (Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands as well), Gunfire Reborn, Vermintide 2, Helldivers 2, Remnant: From the Ashes, Valheim (not fps but you can use mods for first person view) and coop is amazing in Valheim, Nioh 2. Also could do Gears series (3rd is best, 4th and 5th are ok but still decent fun with friends).
I’ve been into co-op games lately with my friends.
Edit: steam spring sales is coming soon™. Can’t wait to grab a few of those.
Who-like? Am I just out of the loop and “Dani” is some big name most gamers know, or is the description making a bad assumption that we all know who “Dani” is?
I feel like you just ignored my question to go full-in on promoting whoever this person is, which makes me feel extra resistance to checking it out, on top of my already-existing aversion to watching videos.
Sorry I thought I replied to you!(technical issues, still figuring this website out) but Dani is popular Youtuber who is making gamedev challenges, dani left YouTube roughly 3 years ago. Dani has made for example Muck, Karlson and Crab game(squid game ripoff game). And I can’t promote him. He gets more views than this whole website
What do you mean you can’t promote him? You’re very positive about him to the point it seems you really want me and other Lemmy users to go pay attention to his stuff, and are willing to make posts to do so. That counts as promotion.
Thanks for answering my question about whether he is supposed to be mainstream enough that I am supposed to know who he is without explanation. Unfortunately, there are probably plenty of YouTubers who have higher subscriber counts than the count of total active Lemmy users, most of who are totally irrelevant to me and who are still not someone everyone who does not live under a rock would be aware of. I’ll assume he counts as one of them. I am glad you enjoy his content enough to advertise for him on Lemmy, but it’s coming off less as a person sharing their enthusiasm and more as an advertisement I really do not want to see. I think that is the vibe everyone else is picking up as well, and why you are getting a lot of downvotes on this post.
I mean that my promotion would have such little impact on his views he wouldn’t even notice. And yes this is advertisement/promotion. I agree that my post wasn’t very good at what it was supposed to do
