I just beat this guy. Walked in with a colossal hammer and pancaked him. Took two tries because the first time I didn’t realize he didn’t turn into the fat one, but it was a summon instead.

I don’t really have much advice, really. Run sideways towards him when he spams projectiles, dodge into the big projectile, ignore his summons since your big hammer will hit them too anyway.

Yawweee877h444,

Yep I was being dumb playing it safe behind the gravestones. Soon as I went up close got him on 2nd try

I’ve never played The Binding of Isaac’s multiplayer, but it’s an incredible game, infinitely replayable, and has full co-op now (as in you each have a full character rather than just “little brother mode”)

Terraria. An old friend popped up to ask me if I’d like to play and it’s been many updates ago and at least a decade since I last played. We are playing both calamity and Fargo souls mods mashed together and having a hell of a time with the extreme difficulty as we work through the boss fights.

Not to mention our life schedules work out to 2 hours a day.

At the end of this week, I will be getting a new game PC. So, I will play:

  1. The last of us part 1 remake
  2. High On Life
  3. Cyberpunk 2077
  4. Alan Wake 2 (half replaying it, already played 4 hours on the PS5)

Yeah elden ring SotA, I finished all the bosses and all the content but 1 optional boss on saturday, and the last boss yesterday. Good dlc but the balancing is kinda whacky and is has the typical complainers about difficulty, the typical defenders that have not finished the dlc, and then people that have done all bosses that know that the last boss is the most overtuned piece of shit to be ever crafted in ER. The other optional hard boss (bottom right) is also kinda stupid but it’s optional and it does give you SOME breathing room, but the last one is just completely un enjoyable.

My partner and I like Boomerang Fu, Stick Fight, and Towerfall. I think there are a few more but can’t think of them right now. There’s not much of a goal other than competing though

If you want to test your friendship you can try 100%ing Super Bunny Man!

supersquirrel,

Rubber Bandits is a nice alternative to Boomerang Fu too

I played Daniel Linssen’s Leap Year, and I highly recommend it! $5 for a delightful single sitting. Goofy mechanics whose depth you slowly discover by exploring and experimenting. Some of the most brilliant level design I’ve seen.

I picked Baldur’s Gate 3 back up two weeks ago.

Last summer I played Act 1 of the game and found myself thoroughly satisfied, and decided to wait to play the rest.

Act 2, like Act 1, is just as awesome. We’ll see if I decide to take another break before the third act, haha! This game is nothing short of a masterpiece.

Other than that I’ve been taking a lot of 10-15 minute breaks while working from home and enjoying the minigames on Meta Horizons.

Personally, I consider “retro graphics” to specifically mean the graphics evoke the look of an old game system, as opposed to just having “lo-fi” art. So I’d say that Celeste has great pixel art, but it’s not retro graphics, since it doesn’t remind me of any old console’s look. In addition to the games others have mentioned, I’ll point out these ones.

Indie games using retro graphics is nothing new. The ratio of effort vs looks is pretty good. The solo dev of Cave Story (released 2004) said that was why he went for that aesthetic.

Once again, I played far too much World of Warcraft Remix this week. I do have three more maxed characters now though and all achievements for the mode. I found Frost Mage to be surprisingly fun, after I totally hated it (my old main) and completely abandoned magic DPS altogether at the beginning of Shadowlands. This time I’ll definitely take it slower and will try to only play my Druid. It went so well the last two weeks.

Depending on how much I get into the new expansion, The War Within, Balance Druid and Frost Mage are definitely some I’ll consider taking a look, although my Windwalker Monk will most likely stay my main.

Then, more Diablo 4. I’m almost level 90 with my Necromancer, Minion build is still boring, but I’ll keep it at least until level 100, and I’ve checked out more endgame stuff.

Find yourself a Radio Control, a Smart Lamp, a Noisemaker, and a few radio activation mods. Mod the noisemaker to look for Green signals and use it to draw zombies away (or towards caltrops/nailboard traps you placed). Throw the smart lamp and activate it with Blue to act as a renewable flare you can turn off. You can mod ONE bomb/grenade at a time with red and explode dangerous enemies around corners with precision timing. Careful not to press red by accident though, it’s the default button when you activate the radio controls.

Speaking of nailboards/caltrops, those are my favorite weapon against unarmored zombies; they do not have any sense of self preservation, so they’ll just stomp the caltrops until they bleed out if they’re in a good spot or have an active noisemaker on them.

You can use permanent markers and pocket settings to make your inventory cleaner. I have an IFAK pouch attached to my backpack that I put a first aid kit in, which I can Open and Close to reduce menu clutter. Inside the first aid kit are ziploc baggies that whitelist one item each, all with maximum priority so that I can easily top off supplies between runs.

Molle storage is the best, be sure to remove all pockets from any zombo soldiers you defeat to grab specialized pockets for your gear.

Knossos,

I like to think of myself as a very experienced CDDA player, and there’s a lot of good tips in here. A lot I had no idea about. Thank you 😊

Drive it like you stole it. You’re gonna do poorly for a long time until you get your head wrapped around it, so just be curious and see if that thing DOES kill you. Then you know to avoid it. There are some good tutorials on YT that can help. Might be a bit dated, but should get you a decent start. Good luck!
