I recently started learning and playing poker, and I mostly play with fake money. Here’s what I’ve used so far:
Pokerstars and GGPoker both have fake money options that you can play without depositing money. I used Pokerstars for a while as it was the only client I could get working on Linux (using bottles). They both have good mobile apps. I prefer GGPoker’s interface so I’ve been using my Windows dual boot to play that when I want to on my computer.
Poker Brawl is a phone app where you can play correspondence heads-up poker with an ELO rating system. It’s correspondence , so you only have to make a move once every three days. It’s heads-up only, though.
I’ve found playing on real poker platforms with fake money to be best in terms of somewhat emulating real poker in terms of player behavior.
Feel free to comment with any questions and I’ll try to help
Hmm, some of those little known games can be half decent sometimes! ;-) I do have Sonic 2, but I think I’m going to wait a bit. Even though I enjoy the games I’m not that good at them, so by the time I finished it I need a break!
hmmm that sounds intriguing…i wonder if it has any retroachievements? a surprising number of romhacks do have achievement sets. i want to check but the site is down rn 😭
I had an itch for a GTA type of game, had watchdogs on my backlog. I started with WD2 it was the one I already had installed. I liked the idea of the world and that it was in San Francisco, came to like the characters and the astheric.
Now with WD1 im liking the new city and the story and gameplay is more serious that the second one. In this one it involves more gunplay.
That makes sense! I haven’t played them, but I remember the marketing of WD1 having a more serious tone. It’s always nice when you have the perfect game to scratch a particular itch
I wanted to play Baldurs Gate 3 multiplayer with my wife, but couldn’t convince her. She really doesn’t like turn-based combat, and the game has too much dialogue for her taste…
So, we are now playing Palworld instead. It’s a lot of fun in multiplayer, but still quite grindy.
I’m doing a replay of Dragon Age Origins. Slogging my way through my least favorite part of the game(the Deep Roads) right now. I’m not that good at the game, so for the harder encounters, I’ve cheesed them by having one member of my party run forward to aggro one group, then run back to where the rest are in order to deal with them one group at a time. If I let my party fight normally, they accidentally aggro multiple groups and they get overwhelmed. That plus saving after every difficult encounter is helping me get through it.
My warden is an elven mage; she’s mostly built for casting ice magic and healing. I usually use Alistair as a tank, Zevran as a dual wielding damage dealer and Leliana as an archer/support unit.
Destiny 2 is not supported for play on the Steam Deck or on any system utilizing Steam Play’s Proton unless Windows is installed and running. Players who attempt to launch Destiny 2 on the Steam Deck through SteamOS or Proton will be unable to enter the game and will be returned to their game library after a short time. Players who are not accessing Destiny 2 through Windows and attempt to bypass the SteamOS/Proton incompatibility will be met with a game ban.
I decided to try Zenless Zone Zero. I’m already a Honkai Star Rail player and I used to play Genshin Impact, although I gave up Genshin because I was irritated with how they handle story and characters. I originally wasn’t going to try ZZZ, but thought it wouldn’t hurt anything. Worst case scenario, I drop it and go back to solely playing HSR.
I’m really enjoying ZZZ’s combat, even if I don’t feel like I’m doing it “right” or optimally yet. The story is nice so far, I love the Persona vibes it gives me, especially Persona 4. Wasn’t expecting that. I got the guaranteed S rank character I wanted (Lycaon!) and I’m skipping the first limited character because… I really don’t like the maid outfit thing. It wasn’t for me on Noelle in Genshin, and it’s not for me here. I love her design otherwise and she’s a shark girl with a shark tail, which is super neat. She has a casual outfit I like a lot. Just. Cannot. Do. The. Maid. Thing.
I might pull on the second half banner. But I haven’t met the character yet so I have no idea if I want her either. It’s a bit frustrating waiting, because my teams are kinda a mess due to lack of characters. But it’s okay. The story comes first and that has my interest so far.
Dragon Age Origins, first run ever. Had to apply the 4GB patch, and it still crashes occasionally on modern hardware. Off and on.
BG3. Just started Act III, still in the outskirts. The third act is so imposing that I’ve taken a break just to clear headspace, hence DAO above
EU4 (Anbennar fantasy conversion mod) – geez, this game is like crack for me. I’m now well over 4000 hours. I keep circling back. Most recent run was Dwarven Adventurer into Verkal Dromak – the sleeper dwarves with the dream magic system. Long considered a hard start, you’re now aided by an early game rebellion which can sometimes cripple your main enemies, the Hobgoblin country “The Command”. Much fun.
Still swimming around in Subnautica. It's been fun trying to figure out my next step. Just mulling over stuff and gathering resources until I'm like "Oh! What did this one log from earlier say? Ok, I gotta check out this place over here." Though I won't lie, I did end up going and finding a map online, because I was getting lost so easily, especially while underwater.
I can feel that I'm nearing the end of the storyline, it's just a matter now of getting there. Without being spoilery, I've put off making one particular piece of equipment, and now it looks like I'm going to need it. So, my current state is farming for resources and crafting. I'm hoping I finish this game in the next two or three days, because while this is fun, I'm itching to play something else.
