TheKracken, do gaming w Army of Two: is PC co-op possible?

Probably have to emulate and play local co-op but not sure if that would work. That’s your best shot.

mergingapples,

Well dang, the guy I’m playing with is out of country. Local co-op isn’t really going to work too well.

Final Fantasy XI, the first final fantasy mmo still has a hard-core dedicated player base. It predates wow and launched on the PS2.

APB Reloaded. Just looked at ths 2 days ago and 200 people were playing. This was the GTA online before GTA online. They blew their load and spend the budget on the character creator and nothing else

I thought “that game had such a tumultuous development cycle and launch surly it’s dead now right?” Wrong

There’s a romhack out there that gives this game a proper control scheme, though I haven’t tried it yet.

I thought that was the version i was playing but i guess not lol. I know i had it on here at some point because i remember using it to beat all the way up until the first dungeon but i lost it when my SD card decided to die on me. I guess i replaced it with the og control scheme version and forgot

Meanwhile, at Capcom: Lost fucking Planet doesn’t exist, Dino Crisis is for trolling, and Viewtiful Joe never got a chance

I_Has_A_Hat,

Viewtiful Joe, my beloved. Why does that game get treated like the red-headed step child? It was so good!

Commiserate friend. Lost Planet 2 is an all time game for me and Capcom unceremoniously delisted it and went quiet in plans to restore it after GFWL removal. After treating it like shit for 3 they binned it. Pains me

Okami 2 has since been announced, so there is a chance.

Was never keen on Phantom Hourglass or Spirit Tracks because of the control schemes… loved Okami’s brush though, go fig.

There’s a ROM hack out there that changes the controls to a more traditional D-Pad control scheme out there. I’ve used it before and it worked pretty well

Wolfenstein Enemy Territory is my pick

Rise of Nations was relatively active up until a few years ago. Unfortunately not natively supported on my device, haven’t tested emulators.

A comprehensive list of verifiably playable games could be huge for us, patient gamers.

There’s a number of mud games still around in their text glory. Love me a text mmo. Well most aren’t massive. None are massive. Hence mud, multi user dungeon. But not massively multi user.

I currently play Starmourn which is very new by mud standards.

Jarix,

Wish my mud was still running. So good (if you are me…)

Last I checked, Populous the beginning still has a small community going on Popre!

Team fortress 2 still has a massive community.

It was 99% cheaters, last time I checked. Has that changed?

CaptainBasculin,

The bot issue is resolved, cheater players not so much, but it’s way less problematic than CS2 since reports actually can lead to bans.

ZombiFrancis, do gaming w What a waste

Completed by an outdated modem-router combo on default settings. Maybe a DSL line.

All I gotta say on the Spyro remaster trilogy is that I 100% support the 3rd game ( the only one my family had ) having been remastered. I don’t like how the bugs in certain levels look/looked in either version because bugs can fuck off, but I was dreading a certain level where you’d find a giant gateway to that shark ( submarine? ) shooting mini game and I didn’t even realize I breezed through that section. Little kid me was scared of that giant gateway because the music would stop and then I’d be face to face with a giant black void, but them deciding music should be played by those portals made it 300% less terrifying.

I have no clue how the original Crash or Rayman games compare since I only played Wrath of Cortex, Twinsanity, and Tagteam Racing for Crash ( before getting the remasters of the original trilogy ( still on game 1 ) ), and Rayman on DS and Origins on xbox360 ( before getting Legends ).

As for Ratchet & Clank, I have played all the PS2 titles ( still in the beginning of Deadlocked ), so I have a frame of reference for how it compares to the latest R&C game. So far ( only have made it past the first Rivet section because getting my controller to work while playing it on Steam Deck, is for some reason, the biggest pain in the ass no matter what I try ) it has been very fun for me. Absolutely love Rivet because 2 words: Giant Hammer! The story, so far, is also pretty good, too.

With Jak and Daxter, I 100% played through the first game but haven’t touched the 2nd game since I was less than 25% done before losing my copy alongside the memory card with my save. But can say with certainly the first game is worth it and would love to see a remaster of.

The original Crash played fine, controls were very responsive, but the platforming was unforgiving. To give you an idea, the japanese version of Crash 1 is easier than the USA release, with some levels considerably shorter. Crash 2 and 3 are much easier compared to 1 (my personal favorite is 3, with all the powerups you get after beating bosses and the level variety)

Rayman 1 was similarly hard as fuck, even more so to get a 100%. Absolutely gorgeous 2D graphics that hold up even today. Rayman 2 is worth checking out if you want 3D platforming, there’s lots of that. Can’t talk about Rayman 3 tho, but it does look fun.

JackbyDev,

Crash 1 can fuck off. It’s hard and boring. It’s just these segments of very long very precise jumping. It’s hard to really put into words that make sense if you haven’t played it, but I’ll try for other readers. It’s like you don’t jump very high, which isn’t really a problem, but it just feels like it should be higher. Plus, it feels like the hitboxes for obstacles are really huge.

I wish the logic was more like a real store (some roguelikes do this so it’s not even a new concept) so you can grab whatever you want and it’s only stealing if you try to exit the store without paying.
