That’s not at all Nintendo’s philosophy.

They literally included emulation starting with the wii

So it is more of a rules for thee but not for me situation. Not you should never ever do it but you should only do it on our hardware with our emulators

Totally wrong my guy. I do see what you mean, but im claiming to be an exception to the case you have laid out.

Their actions are more important than their words which is why i made my point. Im well aware of nintendos history with going after emulation. They almost rival the mouse

For the record im not defending Nintendo here, i just apprciate honesty and accuracy. Otherwise its just slander and misinformation which we have way too much of.

You arent wrong and they have every right to use emulation themselves as the legal owners of their products.

The hypocrisy, as i see it, is that they have in the past painted emulation as bad. Fullstop. So for them to have had that opinion, then use it themselves is where they come into being called out for it. Hence the rules for thee but not for me phrase.

And its not a perfect fit which is why i said “more of a” if that helps explain how i intended to mean it

The inconsitency is in their past words vs actions especially where going after emulators is concerned.

It seems obvious now that you mention that, that Sony went with backwards compatibility because Sega released so many systems in the 90s(ish). Immediate support from a lot of Sega fans that felt betrayed. Aaaand the is also a way to stick it to nintendo while doing it. They didnt have to give up the hate of nintendo(i remember sega/nintendo rivalrly every bit as dumb and real as ford/chevy rivalry)

And nintendo ALWAYs making bad medium choices for their games. Ps1 was already black eye to nintendo. Sony gave you mutiple devices in every device. Cds, dvds, blueray. From Sony an already mammoth device manufacturer for those technologies. Man if toshiba or someone had bought nintendo to push new hardware could have been interesting. Nintendo having HD dvd could have been good for n64/gamecube/wii would have very different timeline

There IS a difference between reality and fantasy. We see it all the time.

There is an actual fetish for consesual non consent aka rape fantasy/roleplay. If we allow that people routinely engage in fake rape, then why are you surprised if anything else is sexualized. People are weird.

But is it not just as disturbing to you when people glorify violence and gore such as the Saw franchise?

I do not understand the attraction to these things either, but I dont think its healthy to pretend that reality and fantasy cant be separated.

Im sure it’s been done, but i would love to see interpretations of a First Time User Experience of OG mario if it came out today.

I cant tell you how many games ive just noped out of because i just want to actually play the game and not read or listen to either dialogue or forced tutorial railroading for 20+minutes (even 5 minutes of NOT being in control of what im doing is annoying) when you start a new game.

Even character creation can impede just wanting to get started. Let me come back later, or engage with that as i PLAY the game. Injecting extensive dialogue or forced interactive tutorial should be a reward or a much appreciated rest from the action, not a burden i must bare.

Not every game needs to be story rich to be fun, thank you vampire survivors

I just started playing last night. I got raided ans my entire base got burned down. I could not figure out any way to stop it from spreading. Why would i spend any effort on building an awesome base if one fucking fire will burn the whole thing to the ground without me being able to do anything but watch it all fall apart?

Im really hoping its a bug because its going to nope out a lot of people when it happens to them.

If you ever had a sibling overwrite a save file you had put dozens to hundreds of hours into you know what im talking about (sorry bro, i still feel bad a about accidently saving over your 90 hours on ff9)

Thanks for letting me know it is a temporary problem. I had 6 pals fighting when it happened and they killed everyone but it was fire pals and one thing being on fire spread to the whole base. Just was like this is a dumb game design. Probably is a way to deal with it, and it is still early access so presumably it will get addressed or it was just something i missed.

I usually choose to play as the girl because devs typically make girl characters have much better customization options or just character designs. Not always but has been a trend i noticed a long time ago.

Like choosing outfits or hairstyles.

Theres usually a lot more options to choose from and also your choices usually are more noticeable when you use your character in game.

Im happy that devs seem to like to give lots of beard styles now so that helps me find more options that i like for male characters

I wish all the options were just available to whatever body type you choose instead of being restricted.

Also, forgot to say theres almost never make up choices for male characters. By choosing the female character/bodytype, especially in less fancy games, the way a characters face looks is usually a lot easier to finesse if you dont like the default options you get. And im refering to just basic bone structure/sallowness of face.

A lot of preset male charactures just look lifeless or hungover

Could you elaborate? I only ask because i havent installed the game yet and dont understand what you mean and would like to know how it will affect game play. What does too much mean here?

Glad you are enjoying it. Any advice on getting it up and running on a steam deck? Just got one a few months ago and havent looked into emulation yet but intended to, life just got in the way and havent gone back to it yet. Maybe you can inspire me to get my some old tony hawk games running. Loved the ps era skater games

So copyright is only useful to protect your profits. There are many people who put effort into many things not because they expect to make money but because of the act of doing it.
