You get to talk to people. It can be a grind if you want. Or PvP if you want. Or just fishing and relaxing if you want. It has matured nicely and is still popular.
Sea of Thieves has definitely interested me but it looks like one of those games that gets better A) if you invest a lot of time into it and B) if you have friends who play it too all the time, and I already have big time sinks in my life and I suck at convincing my friends to play specific games with me
Your character is at full power from day 1, so you only get stronger by learning to play better. The naval combat can take a bit of time to master but it’s fun. The only thing you get for playing a long time are cosmetics. If you want to get sweaty with PvP then you can find a group on the SoT discord. Otherwise, for more casual play you can sail solo or join other players using the open crew matchmaking system. I have around 1700 hours in the game and it’s just as fun as when I started.
Absolutely agree with this. The product could have had fewer games and each game could have been much more shallow and it still would have been “good”. But there’s honestly a ton of bangers in this collection and the variety and creativity is astounding.
I reckon its more if you like the reward that comes with making decisions under stress 😂 if so, yes! But definitely enable the full pause option instead of slow down! Overall its very immersive and the squad management is very light with a good focus on the story and tactics, and stands out for that.
This is the kind of game I always wanted to play ever since being spoiled via Budokai Tenkaichi. I really enjoyed it even though I pirated it; can’t wait to buy it on a sale.

Ubisoft has never been a mod-friendly publisher, and none of their titles support modding to any extent that I’m aware of. The mods that exist for it are pretty limited in nature (i.e. they modify existing values and textures, and don’t really expand the game afaik). I like FarCry 2, 3, 5, New Dawn, and 6, but the series has definitely written itself into a corner. Removing the guns makes it not work (e.g. Primal), but they’ve literally ended their timeline with 5 and New Dawn, and 6 just makes it feel like they don’t know where to go and are doing offshoots. 6 felt more like Just Cause than Far Cry, to me.
Thats fair I’ve heard good things for the first two Far Cry’s. Once I’ve played through the dlc of 5 I will probs go and check another entry in the franchise. What are you thoughts on Blood Dragon? And also cheers your informed response, it makes sense so few mods exist.
UNI finally gets rollback, which means I finally gave the series a shot. The GRD system is a very unique concept that adds an additional layer of trying to win the advantage state, then pressing the advantage when you have it or respecting the opponent's advantage when they do. And Vatista is just a very fun character to play, I'm having a blast with her.
Because, unfortunately, millions of people still use it. If you’re selling a product, it’s in your best interest to have as much social media presence as possible.
Also, it’s better to have an official presence on those platforms so others can’t impersonate you as easily.
If you’ve ever made a thing that took so much time that it has to be your job, and earn you money, you’d likely have a different view. If you’re ignoring a percentage of your target market because they’re on a platform you don’t like, then your project might fail, and you don’t get to keep your house.
If your stated downside to still using Twitter is that it’s a waste of time, is that invalidated if your posting tool posts to all of your socials with one click? Like most professional social media users that have to maintain a bunch of channels with the same content?
Also, who is being dramatic about how important it is to be on or off twitter?
Ok… but his thing can actually happen… your version of the bad things that can happen for still also posting news to twitter is all imaginary stuff that doesn’t happen in real life. Being upset about the direction Twitter and Reddit took and are taking is a totally valid, and honestly the objectively correct position to have about it. But adding in imaginary penalties for using it is not.
You’re saying it’s completely impossible that a game developer remortgaged their home for their project and then failed to meet their required sales by a small amount that could be accounted for by being active on Twitter?
Like, completely impossible for that to happen under absolutely any circumstances?
Twitter is by far the larger platform, and small independent creators have to work to promote their game on every platform they can, if they want to succeed. The moral high ground of not using undesirable social media sites is nice, but isn’t fair to people who are partially dependent on those platforms to make a living.
Also, the simple fact is that there is no reason that any entity promoting their product has to choose any of these platforms over the other–you can just post to all of them, every single one that has enough users to be worth posting to.
I’ve seen several small creators say they get 10 times the engagement on Bluesky. That includes sales through promo links, which can’t be faked. It’s becoming clear that X’s numbers are mostly illusory at this point.
Apparently everyone wants instant gratification and we need to be on to the next scripted moment, then the next one, and the next… No time to admire anything you see.
The best thing about Gamepass is all the non-AAA games that I wouldn’t normally get to play because there is a lot more variety in them.
I don’t have time to be rushed like that. If anyone needs me between now and January 3rd, I’ll be parked in the deserts of Far Cry 2 at night with my buggy ignoring whatever petty need you have to admire the dark serenity and distant zebra yelps.
Call of duty black ops 3. Most of that time was spent in custom zombies maps, but the third party client that cleans up the cheater problem that plagues every old cod let me enjoy some occasional multiplayer, which despite being apart of the infamous jetpack era, I actually quite enjoy
