There are a couple of bosses in that game I absolutely hate to this day and do not like whatsoever. One returned from the original and one is a variant of it. Every game has had a variant of that shall which not be named. Any other arachnophobes probably know what I’m talking about without needing to mention the name.
LOTRO (Lord of the Rings Online) for me. Fantastic community back in the day, and the game itself was fun, too. Now, though, the gameplay is just too restrictive and oftentimes tedious by today’s standards. I really do miss the community, though. I made a lot of great memories there.
Breath of Fire 2 (SNES): I don’t know how I managed to finish this game. It’s too drawn out, didn’t have an interesting story to follow with meaningless and annoying stuff to do and the random battles was too often.
Killer Instinct (SNES): I played this game seriously, learning the combos and fighting competitive with a friend. But nowadays it just does not feel good to play.
Toshinden (PSX): Similar to Killer Instinct, I played this game seriously with a competitive friend. Playing it today, I just can’t do it.
I loved a lot of early Blizzard stuff and I have no desire to play any of them ever again. Warcraft 2, Starcraft, Diablo were all huge parts of my life and I have done nothing with any of those series since those games, let alone go back to those.
I was also a so into Smash Brothers that I was in the competitive scene and won some locals, but I haven’t really felt the call of that series since Melee. Loved my time with the game and the scene though.
Stardew Valley. I was a big fan of Harvest Moon FOMT and kept hearing that I should play it and when I did was I blown away. It felt incredibly similar and 90% of the time I thought “It would be nice if this is a feature” it was
I don’t remember there being any textual dialog in the game except for a few portions of the manual, so I’m not sure what you mean with the central temple. Its main activation comes from both towers, and as someone said, the first simply requires a short trip through a forest and beating a large guard; but the second requires a VERY long path.
West Tower(Assuming north is up/left and south is down/right) You’ll be slowly working your way south down the hill of the main region (not on the first stairs you came up) to unlock more of it and find your shield. But, the path to the west tower requires you to actually travel west past the edge of the first map, out into a wetland area with thin walkways. There’s another boss before you can reach the tower itself.
