The addition of romance options in game needs to just be removed. It’s incredibly cringy and rarely ever adds anything to the narrative aside from side-plot fodder.
Leave relationships to The Sims and quit wasting the time that’s better spent making the game more stable and bug free.
Either get rid of it or make every romance option open to PCs regardless of character creation options.
I dunno what you’re saying about the Sims tho, the last time I did romance in the Sims I was killing all my spouses to collect types of death. Far more interesting than the average romance option in games.
Seriously… What’s the deal with everyone here making psychological evaluations of one’s disposition based solely on assumptions made from a single comment? I see it everywhere. Is there some mandated requirement with Lemmy that people subscribe to the 2007 Internet Denizens Guidebook to Being Edgy?
Dude, I’ve logged about 20 minutes of time in Mass Effect. I didn’t like it. So I have no idea what “alien tang” is.
I simply voiced my opinion on the subject as everyone else has. If that’s not how things work here, then I can definitely see why the user count is diminishing.
That's how the world works buddy. Sorry if you stepped outside your echo chamber, but romance is a part of stories as much as romance will always be a genre of books.
And everyone's gonna judge you if you say stupid shit like this. 'Psychological evaluation', as you put it, is just extrapolating. Or, if you need smaller words, guessing that since you're dumb enough to completely dismiss romance as being worthy of including in a plot, you might be dumb enough to be a bible thumping Karen, or part of Collective Shout.
If you really think being a bigot is okay, I don't really know what else to tell you. Bye, don't let the door hit you on the way out? You don't have many friends?
I don’t recall anything I said being bigoted at all, but the. Again- I’m not in charge how you interpret information.
Speaking of wind tunnels, it appears as if I haphazardly stepped into yours. Apologies that I upset you as it wasn’t my intention.
Real quick… I was told Lemmy was different than Reddit, clearly that’s not the case here, as a different opinion is frowned upon- so could you maybe direct me to the area of lemmy that _they were talking about?
Heh, I just played Smash Ultimate after a long while too. Had a few matches with my kid. I started strong, beating him in first few matches, then he got better and I lost 70-80% of the matches. 😀
My problem with Smash is I just can’t commit to one character and I’m just kind of bad at all of them. If anything, the most decent I get might be with the Links and Belmonts. I guess projectile jank is kind of my thing.
It really can be like that. I started strong with my younger brothers and now i’d say they can beat my ass a good 6/10 times if they try hard enough. Granted i don’t play nearly as much as they do
I’m the opposite boat with technical fighters. I just cannot get the hang of them. The closest I ever got was Tekken 7 because Negan from TWD was in it
Its working real well in America right now… Almost like being a prick to people for “great fun” had negative consequences or something… But lets imagine someone said “Making the gays uncomfortable is great fun. :D”… That would be bigotry, right? Yet for some weird reason, you feel totally fine and safe to say something like that… How odd…
lol Ah, yes. The excuses. “Its ok for me to be a bigot because reasons!!!”. And then you wonder why you get that hate back. What a spoon eating cunt you are.
Yeah, thats pretty much how it works. If you treat people like theyre pieces of shit long enough, they start acting like pieces of shit. Its fucking basic psychology.
If everyone calls you a dick for long enough, it will chip away at your self esteem. Eventually, in order to try to improve your situation, you’ll reach out to something bigger than your self. Thats happens every single day for things MUCH less than treating people like they are fascists. For most people, the thing they reach out for is a football team or something like that. But for others, it can be something much worse. Like race, or religion, of political parties. People often ask “How is racism still a thing?” Well, this is how. Low self esteem. And it happens every day with out the help of fuckwits like the guy I responded to, who has clearly already made their choice to be a bigot.
Theres never any excuse to hate a person because of their skin colour, their sex/gender, or who they love. And if youre trying to make an excuse, you might not be the hero of the story you think you are.
Yes, but unfortunately some people in this thread lack the reading comprehension to understand that. That’s ok. I’m sure if they keep practicing, they’ll get there eventually.
We know exactly what they meant, because they said the words. Thats how you know what people mean. If they meant to say make bigots feel uncomfortable, they would have said that. But they didnt. Why? Because they see all straight people as the enemy in this weird little culture war they have going on.
Im a firm believer in you doing whatever you want in life, as long as it doesnt hurt anyone else. Trans, gay, straight and everyone else in between. You do you. But when I see this shit? Dude, rubs me the wrong way. Its just hate to fuel the stupid as fuck culture wars. And people are eating it up and spreading it around. Straight people are not the enemy. Some of them might be, that that doesnt mean you get to hate them all, any more than you get to hate all black guys because some of them sell drugs to kids. Thats just bigotry, and it makes hate so much easier to spread. Just look at MAGA, and how easily it spread amongst them. All because nuance left the conversation, and everyone started to generalise. Its enough, it really is.
Yes I agree with all of what you said here. But I also believe that if they say they didn’t mean what they said, and the original statement has the possibility to get misconstrued then I think they can be given a chance.
Unlike maga figurehead, who contradicts his every statement on hourly basis
It was my friend's favorite game when it came out, though I never played it myself, and he was a huge FFVII fan, so it might've just been viewed through rose-tinted lenses. Still, if you're big fan like he was, I'd say you might as well give it a shot if you have the opportunity. If I recall correctly, he said it was only 5-10 hours long, so not too much of a commitment.
It’s such a liminal game. Love it. Some colossi are frustrating, though, but remember they all have a strategy to them — the battles are like puzzles. Don’t be ashamed to look up the solutions if you get stuck. They still take some skill to carry out once you’ve figured them out.
There is a giant ass cliff somewhere in the game that seems impossible to climb even when you’re maxed out. But there is a way to get all the way to the top and you will find nothing there unless you finish the entire game like 4 or 5 times. And then… It’s still totally not worth it even though they actually put something there.
