Isn’t there a Retroarch core for Doliphin? And Retroarch is on Steam. Maybe the Dolphin core is not available on the Steam version though.

Anyway, thankfully if you are tech savvy enough to get Dolphin to work, you are more than likely also capable of side loading it on the Steamdeck.

Didn’t for Super Mario 3D All-Star, they just downloaded a rom of Super Mario 64 on a ROM website?

He’s 52, if it takes 8 years before ES6 comes out He’ll be 60. If they milk this one as hard as they did Skyrim he’ll be long dead before ES7. Hell, I might be dead before ES7

I know Todd is kind of a silly guy and people have mixed opinions on him. But it will be pretty weird to be in a gaming industry without him. Like him or not dude is a legend

ConstableJelly, do gaming w Starfield and Baldur's Gate 3 have reignited the 'quantity vs quality' debate around RPGs that promise a billion hours of gameplay, but I think they can actually deliver

I’ve completely lost interest in the Bethesda-style RPG in the 12 years since Skyrim’s release, but I am very hyped for Baldur’s Gate 3 (having not played or seen much of early access at all).

I’m just hoping it’s at least another quality leap in storytelling from Divinity Original Sin 2 as that game was from the first.

Unlike Bethesdas games, I still have a bit of hope for Baldurs Gate 3.

But let’s see how it turns out.

BuxtonWater, do gaming w Terraria's devs have been trying to stop developing Terraria for years, but they just can't quit

I’ve been playing it a bunch since the big 1.4.4 patch, it’s crazy how much work the devs have put it to polish this game into a cheap but high quality game gem over the years.

dom, do gaming w Yet another reason to ditch Musk's Twitter: You can play a crowdsourced Dungeons & Dragons campaign over on Mastodon

Although it is reallt cool, I wouldn’t go so far as calling it a campaign. It looks like you just fight monster after monster and that’s it

Grimpen,

I mean, that sounds like the D&D I played in Grade 7.

dom,

Eh, even then im sure there was “go to this room” or “buy this from the merchant”

It wasn’t just

“Figjt monster”

“OK he’s dead, new monster”

“Fight monster”

Grimpen,

Fair enough. I absolutely remember running randomly generated dungeons from the back of the 1st edition DM’s guide, and the players dutifully mapping it out on graph paper. No cohesive dungeon theme, just all random monsters and such.

It was kind of fun, like playing Diablo.

Of course this also reminds me of the first time I ran Pacesetters Chill. A single monster… investigations, a false finish. My player’s loved it. This Dungeon Bot is the complete opposite that, for sure, but it’s still kind of fun, like just mowing through random monsters.

dom,

I now want to make like a legit action text adventure for mastodon that has things like coheiege dungeon, a story etc

Grimpen,

I think a “Choose Your Own Adventure” or even a “Fighting Fantasy” gamebook style poll based account would be workable…

How hard could it be? I’ve never really thought about what goes into one of these automated accounts.

MagicShel, do gaming w Diablo 4 Season 1—Season of the Malignant details | PC Gamer

I’ve enjoyed the occasional season in Diablo 3 (and I’ve taken years long beaks), and I do enjoy leveling up just for the sake of trying new things, but while I play a lot I’m still pretty casual. Every three months seems a pretty quick cadence to have to start new characters. My highest character is only level 60 I and I haven’t even seen tier IV yet. I’m going to spend all my time chasing after rewards that I have no time to enjoy. Not the battle pass stuff - I’m just talking about trouncing the endgame with massively overpowered characters, which is really what I’ve played Diablo for since the first one was released.

I generally only play seasonal to enjoy the new mechanics, but 3 months makes it feel more like a job than fun. Obviously I’ll give it a chance and see how it goes - maybe it won’t be as bad as I fear. Anyone else? Is this just me? Is someone afraid they’d get bored with 6 month seasons?
