I seriously don’t think this game gets enough credit. It basically invented the combat system used in a bunch of AAA titles today. Like the Batman games. Sure they have been refined and improved it, but it was revolutionary at the time.
Biowares been doing it too. They rested HARD on their Baldurs Gate laurels. So much so they didn’t know how to react when they released DA2 to resounding mehs. And now you see it with mass effect and dragon age being the selling points.

After the age of puns being the peak of humour, the torch was passed to references. Also, the context of washing machines is so central to my concept of NSMB, that either subject can no longer be brought up without the other.
Because NFS Unbound sucks. Never in my life have I tried to refund a game so quickly. Couldn’t make it past the first hour of the game.
The characters just won’t shut up, I’m trying to drive not hear people yap about how the illegal street racers that cause millions in public property damage and multiple fatalities each race are so oppressed by the government.
Ah, is that the one where you had to endure teenagers trying to do the cool talk for like 15 min before you can even see a car? Uninstalled and refunded straight away.
The Outer Worlds is the non-fantasy, single player, action RPG Outer Wilds is the one you are thinking of. I can’t really put that to a genre, other than Outer Wilds is just art.
