Aceticon, do gaming w Oh trust me. I know your frustration better than you do.

The closest to sexuallity the character I’m playing at the moment can get is necrophilia (gay, straight, group sex - up to the player really) and I need to abuse the engine a bit and use my imagination.

Granted, in single player Project Zomboid there aren’t any other living humans.

The only time I rage these days is when I am playing a souls-like and I tap the dodge button while my stamina is full and nothing happens. And then I just yell at the game. “Oh you stupid fucking bastard! Dodge! I’m hitting the button when his arm is still a mile away, just fucking move!

It’s the same frustration playing Mario and for some reason the fat plumber asshole doesn’t jump when you hit B so you end up running off a cliff.

bitwaba,

You just described my weekend

RGB3x3,

Fucking finally someone also says this.

I’ve always felt like the game is intentionally punishing in the most frustrating way, which is that there’s input lag.

I can handle a difficult boss. What I can’t handle is a control system that feels completely unfair and laggy.

Kolanaki,

In the actual souls games, the dodge happens on release of the button because holding it is how you run. It can feel like input lag at times. Though there are times where there actually is lag, usually accompanied by a slight dip in FPS that results in you hitting the input, taking a hit, and then dodging.

I’ve been playing Fallen Order, though, and like I’ll hit the combo to heal, my dude says his voice line and I even lose a heal vial, but the animation of the robot actually tossing me the thing never occurs and I don’t actually get healed. It also has a habit of not putting the droid on ziplines when you jump to them so you just fall into pits.

kuberoot,

Funnily, there’s something like this in hollow knight too - you tap the button to use a spell, hold to focus. In HK though, there’s an extra bind you can assign to cast a spell instantly.

I used to be all of these, now I just press alt-F4 and go do something else. I’ll come back to it later when I’m calmer.

I don’t give a shit who or what I play as, as long as they’re bad-ass

Idk, I don’t feel like I can relate to some bad-ass. /s

Honytawk,

Then just relate to the ass-bad characters

The soulsbourne genre made me hate dogs in video games. Not IRL though.

RedAggroBest,

Dogs are the reason I always have a shield laying around. Sometimes I just can’t be arsed

Elden Ring made me hate dogs.

Not in real life. I love you furry bois.

Something_Complex,

Similar experience but with far cry 3

Singleplayer I’m playing Cyberpunk Phantom Liberty, which is imo a stellar experience so far. I’m also playing Cassette Beasts on the Steam Deck, which is also a great experience. Like Pokemon, but also different in many ways.

Multiplayer it’s still Deep Rock Galactic, and I’ve returned a bit to AoE 4.

I just finished the three King’s Quest remakes by AGD Interactive this weekend. I am playing Fallout New Vegas now.

Ashtear,

Those were fun. The KQ2 remake was way better than expected.

I’ve got the annual New Vegas itch too, already got it perfectly modded on Steam Deck.

Davel23, do gaming w Do you get to the Cloud District very often? Oh what am I saying. Of course you don't.

There's an old Infocom text adventure called Planetfall in which you have a comedy-relief sidekick in the form of a little robot named Floyd. Occasionally when you save the game Floyd will say "Oh boy, are we going to do something dangerous now?"

I started up Cult of the Lamb more seriously. I had it at launch, but it didn’t hold my attention between Hades for the roguelite action and RimWorld for the colony stuff.

But I’m currently bored of those two, so I’m playing this. Shit was getting frustrating with the gains for going and doing the dungeons… Until I learned that I wasnt actually cooking all my fish and had tons of fish meant to be sold. Money solved literally all my problems. Just like it would in real life 😭

EvolvedTurtle,

I love cult of the lamb I got it on my switch and I genuinely think it’s a perfect game for handheld

Cause you can easily pick it up and play it a little and set it down

But also engaging enough to sit down and play it on your TV

Plus the combination between rouge like and base building is honestly amazing

FINALLY getting into Hollow Knight in earnest. I have to say: holy shit this game truly deserves all the accolades it was given. Absolutely adoring it.

I just started Returnal yesterday evening. I have a PS5 Dualsense as PC controller and let me tell you those haptics are really something.

LaserTurboShark69,

I played it on PC and loved it even without the fancy DualShock features. I bet they’re awesome.

I love how fast and responsive the movement is.

lorez,

Yeah, movement is great. It’s also hard as fuck, at least for an old fart like me (I’m 46).

Still BG3, and probably will be for a long time. As well as tabletop DND now, since the game inspired me to finally give DMing for friends a shot.
