H2SO4, do kbinMeta w Kbin badly needs a facelift

I get your frustration. In the meantime, you can use a browser extension to customize KBin. I personally use FF on mobile and the addon called Stylus

There are magazines for customizing KBin like this:

  • @kbinStyles
  • @enhancement

I’m looking forward to seeing what the federation/activitypub changes will entail.

There are some tools there that I use for the development of the AP module. Among them is Yunohost, which allows for quickly creating test instances of many federated applications with just a few mouse clicks. It's a good choice for someone looking to embark on a self-hosting adventure.

Happy to hear you're getting some time in for yourself. The constant updates have been a joy, but downtime is important too.

The instance has been successfully updated. It should be a bit better in this regard. Changes to the user profile are also now visible.

Sorry, due to recent work, I missed a few notifications. Moderation tools have been consistently expanded over the past month. I have one more specific thing on the to-do list, and I just need to create a team of global moderators. This is my goal for the coming month. Further work on the ActivityPub module will also primarily involve improving communication between instances related to moderation.

Nice to see sort options on the user profile! It's great to see all the progress that Kbin is making.

    Sure thing, I've noted that some accounts are stuck in the queue for deletion. This typically applies to older accounts. I'm currently working on it, and everything should be functioning properly soon. Your request is in the queue. Sorry for that.

    Something is looking weird with the "top" tab, It only offers to filter until 12 hours.
    And I can't access the section "All Content".

    kubica,
    @kubica@kbin.social avatar

    Not sure if something was done to fix the "top" filtering. But now I'm seeing the other options again.

    Hey @ernest, not sure if you saw my question here (https://kbin.social/m/kbinMeta/p/3482999) or not, but I was wondering what the recommended way to authenticate a user with the kbin API that allows federated use. From what I understand, the way it's currently set up is that developers have to register an oauth client with a kbin server in order to authenticate users from an external client. Does that mean every kbin server we want an external client to connect to has to register with oauth?

    ernest,
    @ernest@kbin.social avatar

    Oh, I must have missed your question, sorry. I'll answer it when I get back home.

    I'm really liking the "new comments" feature, would it be possible to make it visible from profile overview as well as on the main feed? No big deal if not 👍

    E: blimey, that was quick! Thanks!

    No, more like this

    Screen is from main feed, but I had just seen it happen in my overview page (my profile), hence my edit to my earlier comment, but it happened on a post I made, and isn't on others, so that might have already existed?

    ThatOneKirbyMain2568,
    @ThatOneKirbyMain2568@kbin.social avatar

    Wait, there's a feed for all comments on kbin.social? That's interesting.

    Just wondering, does anyone know how long it usually is for ownership change to be approved? I applied for one a few days ago, and just wondered how long it might take. Thanks in advance!

    @ernest this is amazing.

    But I worry that you don't get enough time off on the weekends! Please do take some time for yourself as well.

    @jwr1@kbin.social avatar

    Also, I'm not sure if this is intentional or not, but I've noticed posts don't seem to show up in feeds until they have at least one favorite. This post, for instance, wasn't in https://kbin.social/c/kbin initially, but once I upvoted it, it showed up. Maybe it doesn't qualify as "hot" if it has zero votes.

    Teppic,
    @Teppic@kbin.social avatar

    I think it is down to not qualifying as hot. If you sort by new after posting you'll likely be able to see them.

    Additionally, I plan to launch an API on a secondary instance to avoid disrupting work on applications.

    Sounds great! I was literally just wondering about that.
