Edith says: This is mostly because I don’t have any icons for X4 yet. The HUD app (written in React) can switch that on the fly but I’m really not big on the gfx side and that’s also a lot of hot needle coding going on. Currently also experimenting with Rive animations that are more suited for classic MFD applications. See this [unlisted] demo snippet: www.youtube.com/watch?v=suik2_baUfU
In Stardew Valley one of the questions the game asks during character creation is “what is your favorite thing?” where you can type anything you deem fit for you (and your character). Without knowing why it asks this (or completely knowing why) means that an honest answer like “tits” can happen organically or specifically just for the chuckles.
Throughout the game, every time you find a Stardrop that increases your total energy bar, you are reminded of whatever favorite thing you entered at the start of the game.

Lol! Okay, thanks for the explanation on that. 😆
Edit: Just found it humorous guys. Wasn’t making fun of it.
Correctomundo. It gave me a nice laugh, too. I had forgotten I wrote in “Tits” this playthrough and several weeks had gone by before getting to that stardrop.
Can you elaborate on what you mean by “this is not a serious game, this is a traditional game with the goal of making players think”? I like the idea of games that make players think but saying it’s not a serious game can mean you intend it to be silly or that it’s a very low priority for you and that people shouldn’t take it too seriously.
Serious games are a genre. So like education games, brain training games. These are called Serious Games. This is a traditional Action RPG with the aim to make the players think. :)
You just made my 10yo self massively envious… all I had was a couple cardboard boxes, fake dials, some blinkenlights, DIY switches and paper code cards, and some paper tube graphite heaters fed from an old high voltage TV cap that I’m still unsure how didn’t set the whole thing on fire.
my first version was cardboard too and I also call it my little fire hazard 😜 The backside is really ugly. Thanks for your comment. My 10yo self is very proud and happy that I finally built this.
I’m just yanking you chain. In all seriousness though, I’m curious if you could enable finger tracking on a headset and line up your physical buttons with the virtual ones. Could be insanely immersive if the scale is correct!
I see. In theory that’s possible but there is no game that has this as virtual cockpit as well. I know this exists for e.g. “real” jets but it’s really not for me. Getting motion sick fast (even from shaky YT videos), wearing glasses and like drinking my beer while simming.
