I was ecstatic when Phantom Dust was getting a sequel and then I was mildly happy that it was at least coming to PC. I want more.

rysiek, do zapytajszmer w Co Robić?
@rysiek@szmer.info avatar

Powodzenia!

TimeSplitters 4. If they’d have stopped baiting us with teaser art and promises of someone new buying the bones of Free Radical every few years then it wouldn’t hurt so much.

There was this awesome cooperative programming game called Leap Day from SpryFox. You would login and set up your automated citizens, collecting items, combining items, items with people in neighboring sections to defeat a boss in the middle, but the boss could only be completed by using items from your neighbors. Over time you would gain money for items you brought back to your base and every minute the day on it would resent and everyone go out and collect the same items again. You would have to build and rebuild your area to make enough factories to develop what you needed. I don’t think I’m it justice. I miss it all the time.

Super Mecha Champions on PC.

Yeah, it was a Gacha Battle Royale mobile port. But it was so fun to play. The community was fantastic, except the like 3 cheaters on perpetual ban cycle.

I loved the character design, and the mecha design. The graphics could age really well being cel-shaded/anime styled. And it was unique in its category, no other BR game lets you play as a pilot and call in a mecha, or battle a mecha as a pilot, or vice versa. And the best part was that the F2P economy was pretty good. Paid players got new characters and mecha a week or two weeks before paid players that haven’t been playing the game. F2P Barnacle players could use currency earned in-game for characters and mecha and it would take maybe a week or so to get the amount needed. You didn’t even have to win, you just had to play. It was great. The cosmetics were well designed too, mostly. Except that one Ventorus skin that made the extra hands a little too big and cover more of the screen than normal.

Sadly, the servers were shut down by NetEase, probably to make more server space for Marvel Rivals.

I am in so much pain that MP4 is finally coming out and it’s on this shit.

wizardbeard,

That and the Air Ride sequel man. All I can hope is that people get emulators going fast.

mesamunefire,

There’s work already being done ;)

samus12345,

Nintendo will come down on them like a ton of thwomps.

samus12345,

Also on the original Switch, though.

MonkderVierte,

MP4 checklist:

  • Video format? No, that’s old.
  • Mass Effect 4? No, that would be ME4.
  • ??
Derpenheim,

metroid prime 4

not very prime then is it?

JustAnotherKay,

Mario Party… 4? Aren’t they on like 9?

Ferroh, do games w minecraft alternative for windows and android

Can’t think of any survival mode clones for both Windows and Android, but Classicube is worth checking out.

It’s a rewrite of Minecraft Classic (circa 2009-2010) so basically old creative mode and it has a really cozy and welcoming community (shoutout to the folks on the Not Awesome 2 game server). It’s on Windows and Android (and even on some stranger platforms like 3DS, Wii, Dreamcast, and much more).

It has modding support too and comes with flying capabilities, so you don’t have to go full ancient Minecraft haha.

entwine413, do gaming w The steam deck is just great

I just wish the Deck was a bit lighter.

mesamunefire,

A deck the size of a miyoo mini plus would be awesome. But very impractical. I want it.

taiyang,

My primary concern, too. It’s fine for my man-hands but my wife and children still would rather use a switch (or literally have to, as I try to get my 3 year old to reach buttons). A deck lite would be lovely.

Lupus,

We just use a neck roll placed in the lap or on the stomach to rest it on while playing. It is a bit on the heavy side, but it is the first generation consumer handheld with that kind of power so I can excuse that.

Korhaka,

I wish the steam controller wasn’t discontinued, IIRC it was some patent bullshit. But you could use one of you have it or get any other controller and use it with the steam deck

entwine413,

I have one, and plenty of controllers, but I’d trade a bit of battery life and horsepower for weight. I don’t play AAA games on mine, and I know I’m not alone, so they’d be smart to release a lite version.

And it’s not just the weight. My wife has small hands and can’t play it comfortably because it’s so large. I bought her a WIN400 and threw SteamOS on it and that works alright. Something that size would be amazing from Valve (but without the really fucking stupid control placement).

Small form factor handhelds with power under the hood are definitely a thing, but they’re like $1200. I bet Valve could drop the power by 40% and sell it at a reasonable price point.

Korhaka,

Fair enough, I guess they probably wanted to target one set of hardware to begin with and this is what we got with a few minor variations. As popularity grows more choices will probably come further down the line.

Zoboomafoo,

My one complaint is that the shape is kind of awkward and I’ve cut off circulation in my fingers holding it

LucidNightmare,

With the KillSwitch case from dbrand, the Deck is both heavy AND sturdy feeling. The grips on the case are AMAZING though, and really help with the heaviness. I bought the entire kit for mine, because I thought it looked sick, but I can highly recommend the case to anyone who would like the protection and ergonomics that the case can give you.

I like the heaviness, personally. Gives it a “premium” feel to it, but that is my opinion of course!

Silent Hills, it would have been interesting to see what Kojima and Guillermo del Toro would have created… but unfortunately.

Also: Starcraft Ghost, the original Fallout 3, Fez 2, Mother 3 on N64, Legacy of Kain the sixth game (not Dead Sun/Nosgoth), the original Duke Nukem Forever, and probably a bunch of others that I can’t remember right now.

SexDwarf,

And Junji Ito! It would’ve been epic.

mesamunefire, do gaming w The steam deck is just great

The mod abilityof the deck and the openness is a killer feature of the deck. It’s an excellent device.

AceFuzzLord, do games w minecraft alternative for windows and android

Yeah, I don’t think there are any besides Luanti. The rest are pretty much all just closed source mc rip-offs/probably malware/microtransaction filled clones.

SatansMaggotyCumFart, do gaming w The steam deck is just great

Don’t they have different screens too though?

entwine413,

From the original decks, the top tier screen can be achieved with a matte screen protector

Flames5123,

Exactly. The two higher editions are OLED, 7.4”, 90 Hz, which is a huge plus, vs the LCD, 7”, 60Hz display of the old/cheaper one. Plus the battery has 25% more capacity for the OLED editions. But between the top two, it’s just storage and cosmetics/accessories.
