I highly recommend the Scuf Nomad. It’s a bit more expensive than other options. I think it’s worth it. I play a bunch of games on my phone and can’t be happier. In the past I used GameSir products and think those are pretty rad for budget options.
I do not recommend SteelSeries at fucking all. They used to ship the Stratus with known issues. Support would actively admit the problem. Sometimes you could get a replacement. Sometimes you couldn’t. I have no idea if their newer products are better; I have stopped buying them since then.
If you already have a Xbox/PlayStation/Switch controller, you can also use that. There are very cheap mounts you can buy for each of these controllers for ~$10 USD that will allow you to hook up to your phone seated on top of the controller. You might even be able to 3D print a mount too.
It’s not nearly as comfortable as this is (though you could say it is because the controller, itself feels better in the hands, but I’m talking viewing angle) but it’s a lot cheaper and doesn’t require buying a new, dedicated controller.
Not knocking your suggestion, OP. Just providing a secondary alternative too.
Tic Tac Toe is still a pretty good time though. Legit that was how i killed time growing up, and even now, the number of spontaneous tic tac toe games i’ve started in games while playing with friends is pretty high
Its probably more they just want to let streamers and people get their names instead of being impersonated. But yea, security usually falls by the wayside.
This alone is one thing that makes Grounded stand out so much. Why do they make me suffer? Shuffling my equipment in and out of chests is not fun. I want to organize it, and then fill it up.
I can STILL remember the entire game and all the feelings that came with it. Every planet, every realization was chapter in my memory and sometimes I find things in the real world that reminds me of a part of the game. It’s one of the only consumed media that can remind me of the game from visual, audio, or emotional triggers.
If your heart holds even the tiniest itch for adventure, you’ll probably want to play this game. I don’t game as often anymore, because the older I get, the fewer experiences can really captivate me.
Outer Wilds did. I have a friend who told me he teared up during the end game, without understanding why, and I remember someone on Reddit comparing it to a religious experience.
never mind the display, that cockpit is glorious tho. How much of a configuration hell is it with game? Elite (AFAIK) accepts pretty much anything as an input, but what about other games?
Ty! It’s a living hell 🤓 Inputs are rather easy since the usual approaches work okay-ish. That’d be AntiMicroX and MoltenGamepad in my case. Mebbe InputMapper too. The constant fight against Steam’s “everything be gamepad” XInput is a pain in the neck though.
I do this but that’s not all. There are some options that remap especially additional joysticks to SDL XInput Mapping devices automatically. Probably(!) back from the days where games could not deal with more than one joystick anyway. Layers in layers and sometimes it’s detective work to figure out why and where the device stopped working. Again. And this is before the terribly broken input system of some games is even reached.
There are now still 2 entries for the same Model and Vendor id in the Wine reg. One for xinput. And this is e.g. prioritized by some games like Elite so they will only start to listen on xinput here, where nothing ever arrives. In that case references to xinput have to be removed again from the registry. Only to be auto repopulated by the next Proton upgrade in some cases or when the device enumeration changes for some reason. Pain.
Damn. Me and a friend took months to finish Halo 2 on legendary. I think I’d do a yearly replay if it wasn’t for that. I have lots of respect for you doing the replays
halo 2 is virtually unbeatable on legendary, except you use speedrun strats and cheese. i gotta admit i turn down the difficulty in h2 because it doesn’t feel like the rock-paper-scissors type gameplay the other games offer. it’s just brutally unfair. your survrival in the first second on the high charity level depends on rng… i play for fun, not to torture myself
The high charity level was unbelievable. It just tossed you in front of some needler grunts and Brutes and called it a day. To this day the line “Watch out for the Captain, it’s got a Brute Shot” is still burned into my mind because of how many times I had to hear it
Only if it’s single player and there’s some bullshit time consuming part I don’t want to deal with or some bug fucks me over. I wouldn’t in multiplayer. I can’t even bring myself to murder people in arc raiders unless its self defense.
I never cheat online multiplayer. I like to be challenged and cheating ruins it.
I hate that modding is considered cheating by some games when all I want is quality of life improvement. Divinity 2 does this by disabling achievements if you installed any mods but thankfully there is another mod that re-enables achievements.
