ryokimball, do gaming w Any good mobile games?

I’ve enjoyed TES: Blades and Fallout Shelter, though I think they both got too micro transactional.

RetroArch even with onscreen keys is surprisingly good, if that’s your thing.

Osmos and Super Hexagon are oldies but goodies, and not pay to play.

Zahille7,

I came in here to specifically recommend Fallout Shelter, and actually its TES counterpart: Castles.

I only played a little bit (cause I knew it would suck me in) but it’s pretty much exactly Shelter but with Elder Scrolls stuff. You can have different people join your town and fulfill different jobs like tailoring, blacksmith, crafting and such. You can decorate individual rooms with themes, and I think even furniture pieces. You can create lineages and rivalries between characters. I think the tutorial usually has you make a decision that will lead to something like that (like the first king has an affair with a khajiit woman even though he has a wife and child, who’s next in line for the throne) but you can make someone else king if you want.

Panel 3, that’s me right there.

Yes, I have several working controllers. Including a couple of spares, unused, still sealed.

PaintedSnail,

Lucky. I have my PS3, and I’m having a horrible time finding decent replacement controllers. You can’t use the new DualShocks, and compatible controllers you can buy are built so cheaply they don’t work very well.

I’ve enjoyed Tekken more than Mortal Kombat.

I mostly played Tag Tournament 2

Sam fakt, że masz do powiedzenia coś, z czym inni się nie zgadzają, nie przedstawia wartości samej w sobie. Liczy się co konkretnie masz do powiedzenia i czy to co chcesz powiedzieć w ogóle ma sens.

proxydark,
@proxydark@szmer.info avatar

Powiedzmy , że ma sens ale nie zgadza się przykałdowo z społecznością religijną bądź polityczną. To są główne nurty , na których polu to można dostrzec.

obywatelle,
@obywatelle@szmer.info avatar

lysy,

Myślę, że zależy w jakim tonie i jakimi słowami powiedziane.

Advanced access costs 20 Euro on top of the already overpriced price, in order to be able to play it two days in advance.

slaneesh_is_right,

People who pay for early access are even worse than pre-order people.

Skrufimonki,

It’s their fuckin money! Who gives a fuck if they waste it?

Blah blah it incentivises companies to keep doing early access… well guess what they ain’t going to stop.

Saying people are bad because they want to spend their money on early access, now that’s someone I judge.

Get over it.

slaneesh_is_right,

Chill out, you can pre-order whatever you want, you’re still an idiot for doing it.

aeronmelon, do gaming w Sure love my Chevy Cobalt!

In Gran Turismo 4, I wound always buy the AE86 Trueno as my first car. This left me with no money to do anything else.

So I had to do several races (usually placing 3rd or 4th) in a used Corolla with bad brakes and in severe need of a tune up and oil change just to have enough money to start working on it.

Coelacanth, (edited ) do gaming w What are the best gaming moments of the last decade?
@Coelacanth@feddit.nu avatar

I’m thinking we’re sticking with games older than this year, as the dust hasn’t settled yet so to speak? Because honestly otherwise some recent entries would qualify for me. I’m thinking of you, Blue Prince and Clair Obscur.

I have a lower opinion of BG3 than most (it’s fine), but I absolutely agree that the Raphael boss fight and music was an absolute gaming highlight, and worth the price of admission alone.

Alan Wake 2 in its entirety would qualify for me, but if one moment has to be singled out then the We Sing chapter was something else. Honorable mention for

spoilerSaga’s corrupted mind place

near the end, that was incredibly memorable.

Finally, and the real standout for me was the Final Dream in Disco Elysium. The most emotional, most impactful and heartbreaking and memorable moment I’ve had in gaming. And the most impressive seeing as Kurvitz (who wrote the scene) managed to distill the pathos and denouement of the entire game into three words to close the dream:

spoilerSee you tomorrow.

apotheotic,

Hard agree for that entire scene from Disco Elysium, that, the spoiler at the end that helps you to find the scope, and the payphone.

Coelacanth,

Yeah the payphone is also up there, and honestly, opening the secret compartment in the ledger too. Which when you think about it, all those best moments are so missable. Completely psychotic by the devs.

apotheotic,

Its a game that, by all means, shouldn’t exist

MudMan, do gaming w What are the best gaming moments of the last decade?

I loved Obra Dinn and yet when you said that I drew a complete blank. What I remember of Obra Dinn is figuring out the metapuzzle. And maybe the Kraken.

I think the problem with "gaming moments" is you need a kind of universally communal experience of a game. The reason the Mexico ride in Red Dead became the prototype for THAT is it was maybe the last time we were all playing the same thing at the same time and reading the same things so we could all talk about the same bit at the same time.

ComfortableRaspberry,
@ComfortableRaspberry@feddit.org avatar

I enjoy reading about stuff I don’t know. It makes me curious. So if I don’t know the game, if the scene sounds interesting, I may look it up and play it. No universal game experience needed.

SchwertImStein,

spoilwrs from Obra Dinn

MudMan,

True. I wish my app had better space for spoiler tags.

But also, I feel these are covered by the title of the thread. If you don't want the best gaming moments of the last decade spoiled maybe don't click on the "What are the best gaming moments of the last decade?" thread.

Not sure if “best” is the right word, but Joel’s death scene was so impactful, even when I knew he had it coming and had to happen.

Also, over a decade ago but inFamous 2 evil ending when you last encounter Zeke. Oof, what a gut punch!
