otp, do games w What are some 3D platformer/3rd person shooter hybrids aside from the Ratchet and Jak series?

It always seemed like “Baby’s first GTA” to me, but I think the Spyro the Dragon series might scratch that same itch. Especially the second and third games on the PS1.

You can use all of them, or none of them, at the same time.

UBoat - it’s a u boat game / simulator of sorts. Complex, slow game play as you stalk convoys, set up for the ambush, then escape the destroyers hunting your uboat.

Husband convinced me to jump into War of Rights with him, so I bought it (currently 50% off on Steam) and we’ve been nubbing around together.

I’ve been playing Open RCT2, I’m working through every scenario. The game is way easier now that I’m not eight years old and I’ve watched a view videos that talk about the mechanics of the game.

  • I finished the first Phoenix Wright Ace Attorney from the remake trilogy

    • The game is really frustrating, because at times it feels more like you’re supposed to guess what’s the developer want you to do, instead of presenting things based on logic / evidence to the witness’ statement
    • The writing can be very awful, some characters are just straight up annoying in order to pad the game. People veer off conversations all the time, trying to be funny, but they are not. And the melodrama that’s supposed to convey the character’s feeling, can be repeated on every new scene that it’s very tiring to play thru it.
  • I’ve also finished Curse of the Monkey Island

    • It’s still a such a hilarious delightful game. Many people stopped by my stream to tell me that they love this game. I was expecting to the game to be not clicking with me since Ron Gilbert departed after Monkey Island 2, but apparently it’s still a very good game.
    • My main complaint is the clicking mechanic, where you need to click and hold to bring up the talk / observe / use option.
  • I’m currently replaying God of War (2008)

    • Apparently I forgot to upload my save to the cloud, so I can’t do NG+
    • It’s still a very good game. I’m at the Alfheim region now, and unlike Horizon Zero Dawn, I have yet to feel fatigue replaying this game. Maybe it’d happen later in game

I bought The Making of Karateka. Not exactly a game, more like a playable documentary (akin with Atari 50 anniversary collection).

If it were on sale, I’d say Fling To The Finish. But for now, I’ll have to probably just wait and see what else is on sale that catches my eye.

Unforgettable voyage. Looks like a cute little puzzle game.

I’m not sure if it’s on sale but I’ll just keep talking about Revita because it’s such a succinct rogue like that blends hollow knight and TBOI very well.

angstylittlecatboy, do gaming w Players who don't like survival games as a genre: Which survival games are your personal exceptions, which ones have you enjoyed nonetheless and why?

Terraria.

Because to me Terraria feels more like a freer version of a Metroidvania than a survival game. And while you start weak you get downright overpowered.

OfficerBribe, do games w What's up with Epic Games?

Steam and GOG are simply better platforms overall. If you really care about being DRM free and owning your games you go GOG route, otherwise Steam is the king. Epic does not even have a review system.

Epic however is the best source of free games on PC. A lot of the latest games I have played have been from Epic giveaways. Right now they have Outer Worlds and yesterday it was Ghostwire: Tokyo, both of these games I played few months ago after purchasing them through Humble Bundle.

Will I ever buy a game on Epic? Probably not, I prefer Steam, but those that simply refuse to redeem freebies and install their launcher while shouting things like it being spyware are weird.

DrCake, do games w [Steam] Which lesser known games have you bought or are planning to buy in this sale?

I picked up Sociable Soccer 24 for the steam deck as I just wanted a simple football game and FIFA doesn’t really work. Pretty good game, the controls can be a bit weird at times but enjoying it for the easy pickup and play style.
