Mario Party 3 on switch still holds up and the mini games are challenging enough on Super Hard.
Tears of the Kingdom. The best fights were when I went to Ganon with 3 hearts and no gloom healing but still. The game was difficult and I still haven’t gotten all the shrines. Getting all the light roots brings back the heavy exploration that you got in Breath of the Wild in the over world. Of course the over world was the only world.
I played the remake of Story of Seasons: A Wonderful Life and it’s pretty good. It lacks a lot of gameplay when you compare it to Stardew Valley. But the family aspect was compelling. The game is a challenge tho but I like that.
I haven’t personally tried using the tools in this video, but they may be an easier way to set up virtual machines for specific older hardware/ windows machines for gaming.
I’ve gone through this song and dance before with my old games and the most success I’ve had is with wine on Linux. It’s not foolproof unfortunately, and takes a bit of tinkering. It likely won’t work for every game either. You’ll probably want to find tutorials for each specific game you’re trying to run. Another option I’ve had some success with is running a windows xp VM. But again this isn’t foolproof and requires some technical literacy
I really dislike that it’s game news outlets that get the vote, because they’re just plain gonna have a different outlook on games than people who don’t have to engage with ones they both do and don’t like as a job, and it really shows in the kind of games that get picked (shorter main storylines, narrative-driven), and the ones that don’t (sandboxes, open-world games, strategy, simulation games, etc).
And that’s only even when it’s not a selection of the 5 most well-known games, since just like the Academy Awards, not all of them have even played all the games they’re voting on.
Well typically the outlet convenes with a bunch of people who have played a wide variety of games, so I feel they have a pretty good pool of minds to pull from.
Also I don’t think it’s a bad system compared to having it be all user voted. Golden joysticks already exist for 100% public vote, and that can be easily influenced by bots and the like. Also half of the games nominated for game of the year this year were open world games that were not short. I mean I don’t think many expected in January a crpg would win in a year a Zelda game came out ¯_(ツ)_/¯
Officially it has no coop mode but because the game just accepts input from all input devices, one person can control the right hand and the other the left hand. No time limit, infinite retries. It’s a short game but you that’s really not a problem with a price tag of free.
I would choose a character and concentrate on learning him. There are builds online you can use to not get over whelmed at first by the shop.
I play an other MOBA but there is probably a lane that has two players for most of the match, you should concentrate on playing one of those two types of characters so you and your son can maximise play time together, most likely the tank would be the better choice (more forgiving, easier to learn, support character so your son gets to be the hero).
Finally finishing Celeste, after not playing it for a couple of years
Lately I've been playing Plants vs Zombies, and I was planning on playing Halo Infinite as soon as I can get the campaign to stop crashing when it first loads
Celeste is a wonderfully brutal game. I love the characters and the whole idea behind, “conquer a hard thing just to say I did it.” To be fair, that is what it feels like when climbing mountains or other large rock structures
Plants vs Zombies is the best tower defense game out there. Y’all can fight me on that.
Started Terra Nil today and it’s a lot of fun! I suck at strategy games so even the easy mode made me frustrated lol, but it’s so beautiful and clearing every stage is totally worth it.
I think this is gonna have the same problem as mario kart, so I probably need to wait until they have some more game experience. Last year when I had my last smash phase they enjoyed the music being on in the background though.
