N00b22,

They don’t seem to realize that core managing is done better in W11 than in W10

thingsiplay,

Is this proven? I’m not using Windows, so just asking out of curiosity.

N00b22,
thingsiplay,

The linked page isn’t actually proving your statement being true. It just explains in theory. Which was my point, if there are benchmarks that prove this undeniably being true. Especially in context to gaming. If a game is not fully utilizing multithreading technology, then it wouldn’t much benefit from the better ThreadDirector. Maybe this game doesn’t benefit from it much.

N00b22,

Yeah, you’re right. My bad

narc0tic_bird,

Intel Thread Director has been backported to Windows 10, and it wouldn’t affect AMD CPUs anyway. Windows 10 has shown slightly better performance in games compared to Windows 11 in many tests.

  • expected resolution: (720p|1080p|1440p|2160p) check
  • expected fps: (30|60|60|60) check

Good list. Too many specs forget about these basic information. But what about the “NETWORK: High-speed Internet connection”? I assume a connection is required while playing, because of some anti cheat or DRM? And why is High-speed connection required to play the game? Is no offline play possible?

N00b22,

The game seems it will be always-online. That is a bummer considering to what happened to the OG The Crew

I’ve been PC gaming for coming up to 40 years now and I can say it’s always been like this. It’s just what it is. The new games require huge amounts of hardware and that’s okay.

They’re pushing the envelope and you might not be able to play it yet, but one day you’ll be playing it on your phone, or on your toothbrush.

These are hardly surprisingly high System requirements, at least if the game looks the part. Achieving 1080p60 at medium settings on an RTX 2080, which performs pretty much on par with an even older flagship card (1080 Ti) sounds about right.

CPU requirements aren’t that out of place either, and I doubt you’ll actually need a 14900K for 60 FPS.

For a game from 2024 this looks very standard to me. Assuming this is correct I’d get about the performance I would expect from my hardware.

Or more specifically: www.sega60th.com/register

GlennicusM,

Trying to register through this and it’s directing me to localhost:3000 after logging in through steam, which then just says it refused to connect.

Edit: I figured it out. If anyone else has this issue, change “localhost:3000” to sega60th.com

Nice, thanks. I remember when this game came out, and I only ever got to play it once at a friends house. Will be interested to see it!

To me it has a similar feel to some of the later Sonic games, but without the fear of falling off the level. I recommend checking out a how to play guide because it just jumps in without explaining.

While I am at it :D (Edit: broken links corrected)

I likely grabbed this game from when it was given away, but its still cool that it is available. Also got a few Steam profile items but never used em.

I don’t think I played anything over the past week. I’ve been thinking about trying some fresh builds in nova drift, which is in it’s final steps to full release.

I remembered that I played dragons dogma 2, as I also did last night and there is something inherently wrong with the later parts in that game. I’m wandering through the desert sections of the map, clearing everything as I go, and I’ve flat out lost pawns while just walking on major paths. They get stuck running into a cliff face somewhere and no commands or anything else will tell them to knock it off. I literally have to go to them, pick them up, and move them away from the wall. I must have missed one of them getting this stuck as she simply despawned completely instead of teleporting back to the group. I have been besieged by roaming groups of what might as well be orcs only to look at the minimal and realize my front men are somewhere 100m back. It’s so incredibly frustrating.

Just started up ‘Oxenfree: Lost Signals’.

Loved the first game. Let’s see if the sequel can match it. 😊

kindenough,

Oh, thanks for reminding me there is a second game out. I enjoyed the first one as well.

teawrecks,

Nice, I just played that a couple weeks ago. Had some friends over and we played it through in one sitting.

Faydaikin,
@Faydaikin@beehaw.org avatar

Well, just finished it.

And although it didn’t match the first game, it’s still a nice chill game in the same vain as the first. Same feeling and all that.

As suspected, it’s tough to attempt a continuation of the first story. They dipped a bit much into a few themes that really didn’t seem to fit very well and there’s a distinct lack of interaction with other NPCs. There’s a few random characters you talk to over the radio, but not anything that has any impact on anything.

So it’s a fine enough game if you just want a bit more of the Oxenfree flavor, but don’t expect too much from it.
