    +1 for Mark of the Ninja. The gameplay is so polished, great art direction, and simple but satisfying. It is a staple Klei Entertainment game. Not to mention the good story, at least as I remember. It’s not a new game, released originally in 2012, however there’s a remastered version on Steam.

    I need to add to the dishonored pile here. Deathloop is a much more doom-able game. Dishonored can be played in a fast way, but you can play the entire game with killing anyone, or being seen by anyone, or both. I highly recommend it, they scratch the itch.

    neshura,

    Adding onto that, Dishonored 2 feels way more fun when playing non-lethal. Dishonored 1 kind of handicaps you if you decide not to kill enemies, whereas Dishonored 2 gives you a few more Options.

    Both are incredible games though, definitely worth playing.

    NightmareQueenJune,

    Yes, Dishonored is really fun. Having a good saving system (with quick save and load) makes it even better. I love to have the option to just fool around.

    As far as I’ve read, it has some serious performance issues.

    Toribor, do gaming w Modern Pokemon games hold your hand too much.
    @Toribor@corndog.uk avatar

    Gamefreak clearly isn’t interested in evolving their formula very much. Each game is designed to be approachable for young children who are potentially playing Pokemon for the first time. So yeah, there is a lot of hand holding.

    I’ve found myself hoping the same thing though, that maybe the franchise would grow up with me, but it doesn’t look like it is going to happen. I expect that we’ll have to mash the A button through the Pokemon catching tutorial until the end of time.

  • wccrawford,

    It was really unfortunate that they included that. I continued to the end, but those were definitely the worst parts.

    Not what you describe, but perhaps Cats and the Other Lives would catch your fancy?

    Although it features foxes rather than cats, Endling: Extinction is Forever ticks a lot of your boxes.

    For something less survivally you could try Catlateral Damage: Remeowstered.

    What about Little Kitty Big City?

    tombuben,

    I have really high hopes for this. I don’t think it’ll be a “survival” game and more of a cute cat sandbox similar to Untitled Goose Game though.

    You can try loading the Aurora Store, setting it to spoof a different device. I'm not sure if it'll work, but its a no cost test.

    There are also some G8 LineageOS ports which (if applicable) would upgrade you to Android 11. That's a lot of effort for a few games though.

    This sounds amazing. One mode you can be a cat stuck in a house with 3 other cats that don’t get along. You have to try to drop a deuce without getting attacked, you have to mark territory without making your “owner” upset about peeing in the house.

    I think if someone went all out with making some sort of bizarre simulator game like this, people would play it. Like, don’t even try to make it fun or add a story or anything, just make it as real as you can.

    MrJukes,

    I mean, maybe try to make it a little fun

    Datas_Cat_Spot,
    @Datas_Cat_Spot@startrek.website avatar

    Lol, I suppose that’s fair.

    But people play lawn mowing simulator, power washing simulator, and truck simulator mostly for the realism.

    Power Washing sim because its satisfying, dont own it myself but watched a buddy play for a good few hours

    hascat, do gaming w Where are all the good stealth games?

    Stealth was necessary in the early chapters of Death Stranding. As you get access to better equipment it becomes less necessary, but the early game was definitely the most stressful stealth experience I think I’ve had in gaming.

    tombuben,

    I really enjoyed the BT stealth sections, but the sections with MULEs or Terrorists never really felt that stealth wast the best approach there, mainly because of the level design just being so open.

    hascat, do gaming w Anyone else remember those giant scale maps that used to be in shooters? e.g. bathroom, kitchen, office, backyard, that made you feel so tiny?

    It’s almost a decade old now, but I enjoyed playing Catlateral Damage back in the day.
