vettnerk,

So for the next 20 years all AAA game publishers will do the game equivalent of only releasing MCU/DC reboots, sequels and prequels?

vettnerk,

Factorio. Sure, it’s universally hailed as a great game, but I still call that underrated. Yes, I’m a cracktorio addict, how could you tell?

vettnerk,

I quit WT around 2019 or thereabouts. A certain amount of grinding is OK, but an economy xhange made it impossible to play the vehicles I already owned without grinding in between to afford the repair cost.

So what did they do now?

vettnerk,

Hmm, maybe it’s worth revisiting then, depending on how far back they reverted the economy.

vettnerk,

I paid for premium on occasion. But when the economy turned to shit I refused. Then they made it even worse and I uninstalled.

vettnerk,

After mostly playing BG3 lately, I’m now back to Factorio. I figured that since my angelbob mainbuss save passed 1GB, it was time to start something new, so I decided to give Space Exploration a go. I hope to have it completed by the time the space expansion for Factorio is released.

vettnerk,

I had forgotten all about that game until your description made uneasy memories of those boss battles awaken.

vettnerk,

I gave in to the hype and bought BG3. And this is the first time in ages where I’ve bought a brand new AAA game and not been disappointed.

I have a brand new PC, so it’s about time I ran something more demanding than Factorio on it.

vettnerk,

I know. I have an angelbob megabase save that clocks in at 788MB. To play it I need to add an additional 16GB of swap. I figured that it was about time the GPU did some heavy lifting too.

Bluey's getting a four-player video game adaptation in November (www.eurogamer.net) angielski

Bluey, the Australian cartoon sensation (seriously, it's great and you should give it a watch even if you're not actually five years old), is being turned into a video game that's coming to Xbox, PlayStation, Switch, and PC on 17th November this year....

vettnerk, (edited )

I hope that, just like the series, it’s meant for adults, but kids like it too.

What are some games that "spin" failure states? angielski

What I mean by this, is instead of when you fail and are met with a game over, the game finds some way to keep it going. Instead of being forced to reset to a previous save or an autosave checkpoint, the game’s story continues in an interesting path. Are there any games like this?...

vettnerk,

All of the Grand Theft Auto games have you respawn outside of a police station or a hospital.

vettnerk,

Leaving the hospital with thousands of dollars gone is just US developers adding realism.

Agree. There’s more to my interpretation of “Monkey Island-like” than being point & click:

  • Cartoonish style <– They seem to have a similar art style, I’ll give them that.
  • Absurd humor
  • Pirate themed
  • Satirical
  • Undead
  • Voodoo

Following the articles logic, I would say that Minecraft or Skyrim is Quake-like, seeing as they’re both first person view.

Further down in the linked article it instead calls it “Monkey Island-inspired” and that’s probably a much better description to have in the title.

vettnerk,

I wish I could forget all about Day of the Tentacle, so I could play it all over again and rediscover everything.

That whole ordeal with Red Dead Uncle Fred is hilarious, especially after IRS arrests him and restrains him with literal red tape.

vettnerk,

In general there’s nothing wrong with using a VPN. And in particular, steam doesn’t care that my home network funneled all traffic via work for a while.

What is up with Baldur's Gate 3?

This is not a criticism - I love how much attention this game has been getting. I’m just not understanding why BG3 has been blowing up so much. It seems like BG3 is getting more attention than all of Larian’s previous games combined (and maybe all of Obsidian’s recent crpgs as well). Traditionally crpgs have not lit the...

vettnerk,

What of I’m of the unpopular but firm belief that 3.5 was the pinnacle of D&D and therefore am heavily boased against 5e?

vettnerk,

I know next to nothing about neither Ow1 or OW2, but from the sound of it they turned OW2 into a game focused on grinding, where you can pay to skip (part of) the grind. Is my assessment correct? If so they must’ve looked at War Thunder and taken that idea.
