Palworld confirms ‘disappointing’ game changes forced by Pokémon lawsuit (www.videogameschronicle.com) angielski

With the implementation of Patch v0.5.5 this week, we must make yet another compromise. From this patch onward, gliding will be performed using a glider rather than with Pals. Pals in the player’s team will still provide passive buffs to gliding, but players will now need to have a glider in their inventory in order to glide....

thermal_shock,

Children will, from their parents who don’t see these articles or care, just that their kid is entertained… Don’t be an ass.

I have already boycotted Nintendo, but nice try? I’m on PC and steam deck.

Also a lot of these concerns were not major issues when the switch 1 came out. So I don’t really go off the switch 1 ownership results since Nintendo seems to have done some serious damage to themselves in the past 1-3 years alone.

thermal_shock,

Just in case no one knows this, you can absolutely play multiplayer in Subnautica 1. Takes a tiny bit of work and a mod, but doable.

Of course it’s not official, and may be bugs, but doable.

I’m curious what is going to be new in 2, thought the water genre had maxed out before doing deep and making it a horror game. Feel like anything else would just be DLC or a mod.

thermal_shock, (edited )

Just got my OLED. Really Love it. Haven’t gotten to switch emulation yet, but SNES and other old stuff works great. Bought some horror games because I only like those on controller setups from the couch, not in a computer chair. Loving it so far.

My favorite part is Decky, just customizing the hell out of it. Really fun and capable device for $500.

Playing BioShock for the first time, gone home, from the darkness, evoland, hollow knight, the messenger. All the side scrollers and games best for controllers. Puppet house is sick. Fire watch is next.

I'm bored and desperately search for a proper game angielski

So, I’ve spent over 2 hours on Steam searching for a nice game to play. But it’s all junk, as far as I’m fed with Steam recommendations. I liked ksp2 1, cities skylines 1, age of empires 2, baldurs gate 3 a lot, I just finished Divinity original sin 2. I like rpgs and management / factory games like workers and resources,...

thermal_shock,

I just restarted playing fallout 4. Can give that a shot if you can catch it on sale

thermal_shock,

That was almost 3 car payments before I finished paying off the note. Not even close to tempting me with molded plastic toys.

(my first time here sorry) prison review and suggestions angielski

hey guys sorry its my first time here on lemmy so i am not sure how to use it fully but i’ve been playing prison acrhitect for a long while though i am finding out i am not too good with designs or money anyone can help me out or tell me how i am doing so far thx :>

thermal_shock,

It’s a different game though, inventory, open world. Metro is a decent fps on rails.

thermal_shock,

I introduced mine to undertale and other stuff like cuphead, old school sonic games and SNES emulators. We dont care about latest Mario’s, but he does have odyssey.

thermal_shock,

If they’re turning billions of dollars in profit each year, there’s no reason to raise the price. Fuck them

thermal_shock,

Well I’m making myself a deal, starting today, no more gas station trips for soda. If I can make it the month and start riding my bike again, I’m getting a steam deck.

And will emulate the fuck out of switch games. Kiddo already has a hacked switch.

thermal_shock,

Games are digital, much less production costs. Widely distributed, far greater than 20-30 years ago. Efficiency has gone up ten fold with modern tech. Nintendo still makes billions in profit each year, don’t play the “they deserve more money for their work” bullshit.

thermal_shock,

It’s not really cheaper, and I can use my VPN for other things. Torguard with promotional price is $30/year. I got a dedicated IP so I can open ports with it. Used them for almost 7 years, upload about 1TB/day

Nzb and newshosting gets me gig speeds too

thermal_shock,

$1-10 now is preparation for the future

thermal_shock,

He asked a legit question. You didn’t say “PC”, you said steam specifically. Why does the launcher matter?

thermal_shock,

Damn man, you brought some serious attitude here. Take a fucking walk.

thermal_shock, (edited )

There’s a hundred different versions of amazing Mario and Zelda games that you can play already with emulators and on an old switch/computer/steamdeck. Wait till the new one is emulated, don’t enable Nintendo to do this shit.

thermal_shock,

Seriously. It’s tried and true.

thermal_shock,

Only recently has steam gotten better at this. I’ve got my account, my kids account, and a 3rd account that owns games we may want to play, so that it doesn’t tie up either of our main accounts or if we want to have a guest use it. (all are shared to each other). Until last year, it was not super easy sharing them all, lots of logins, authorizations, etc.

thermal_shock,

Yup! Not all, but most. Some with high levels of cheaters block family sharing, like RUST

thermal_shock,

This household will be migrating to steamdeck or equivalent. We’ve invested too much into PC games and moving our main desktops to Linux, it only seems right. I’m tired of supporting companies that don’t care about us, only our money, and even then slap you when you’re not looking.

Day 247 of posting a Daily Screenshot from the games l've been playing until l forget to post Screenshots angielski

I continued through Far Cry 3 today. I got like a good 1/3 of the map filled out. It’s interesting to think that a map of that size was once considered a “big” game map, and now it’s almost kind of dwarfed....

thermal_shock,

FC3 and Blood Dragon got me back into fps games after a break from Fallout 3. Still two of my favorite games ever.

thermal_shock,

Maybe I’m not seeing the whole picture, doesn’t steam host the game data? Push updates? Promote? Host Workshops if applicable? Use their bandwidth? Sync saves when applicable? Provide a community forum for the game? Allow players to connect easier?

Sounds like that 30% goes a long way.

Is that cut too much to cover all those things?

thermal_shock,

Good point

thermal_shock,

I think 30% is fair too, thats what I was asking. I don’t know the industry, but steam takes on a lot of responsibility hosting a game and handling what I listed.

thermal_shock,

Just got Robocop and Wolfenstein New Order on a decent sale on GOG, loving Wolfenstein so far…

Love Left 4 Dead 2, timeless classic.

thermal_shock,

Are they labeled as refurb? As long as they’re not being passed off as new, 100% can get behind this.

thermal_shock,

I got the 3060, and returned it for the 3070. Upgraded from a 1070, a 10 year old card. But the 3060 performance wasn’t there, and for $100 more I stayed in the xx70 lane. Needed the 3070 for 1440p monitors, the 3060 was good at 1080p but choked on 1440p. Was worth the upgrade for me, was my Christmas present to myself after 10 years of my old equipment.

thermal_shock,

Yeah, it was a good deal on the monitors. Went from 22" to 27", redid my whole desk.

thermal_shock,

Yeah, I used to steal the physical CDs from Kmart back in the day. They’re old as hell.

thermal_shock,

Mines fine also, ublock origin and a few other small plugins

thermal_shock,

No idea. does it look weird in the other browsers?

thermal_shock,

Isn’t this how they all are? L4d and l4d2 are the same unless you’re hosting a server with .smx plugins.

thermal_shock,

Gotcha

thermal_shock,

How is that related to his/her opinion at all? Are they not allowed to dislike something? You don’t have to agree, but wtf.

I don’t really care for japanese style games either, whether it’s rpg games like Chrono trigger, or sailor moon, or any final fantasy games. Are you going to shit on me too? Because I don’t like something that is popular? I just never got into them and other things interested me first. I do love secret of mana though.

thermal_shock,

Not for everyone.

thermal_shock,

No, but why argue with someone’s opinion over what games they like??

thermal_shock,

So update names and jerseys and keep on rolling?

thermal_shock,

Same, even on my old GPU I’d adjust quality until I got stable 60, otherwise no thanks.

thermal_shock,

No you’re good. I never used the vsync before because I felt like it always made my movements too slow but now with a better graphics card and a better monitor it’s super smooth and accurate and I really like it

I upgraded from a 1070 and a 1080p basic monitor. I now have dual 1440p asus IPS monitors and the 3070, so huge upgrade, about a decades worth of technology
