The Bluetooth mode is made specifically for the Nintendo Switch on that model, on PC and Android you need X-Input mode, which is made available through 2.4GHz and USB-C.

I complained about that part too, and 8bitdo doesn’t seem receptive…

There’s a difference between the Ultimate BT (with hall effect joysticks and the paddles) vs the Ultimate 2.4g, which received BT support later on. They don’t use the same firmware.

It will work with Steam, as Steam itself is able to capture Switch-input, but if you try to use it outside of Steam in a software that expects X-Input it will not work as expected.

I wasn’t able to use it on Android in BT mode either, most games I tried wouldn’t recognize it, but would work fine using a USB-C cable.

I’m not hyped for the game but I’m still curious to play it down the road once the inevitable and glaring bugs from the launch are patched.

It doesn’t fit well into my life. With work, the kids and all the responsibilities that comes with it I can’t afford to sink a lot of time into it, so if I get a game I’ll focus on single-player games, or I’ll go with multiplayer games with a co-op to at least enjoy the game without it being a competition.

You might still be able to use it if you carefully superglue back the plastic part.

A more permanent fix would be to replace the SATA connector and solder a new one by someone with the proper skillset.

I still burn DVDs for my grandma who lives several hours away. She doesn’t have a computer or the Internet at home, so in order to share video clips from the kids I convert them to a DVD she can play on her TV. She’s so happy each time she receives a new disc in the mail and it allows her to see them grow between visits.

She finds it easier to just put the DVD in there, as it will autoplay the whole thing without any intervention, and I take the time to make a cover and everything.
