Nope, they recommend being level 35 at least but I'm not sure if it's a requirement. While jumping from planet to planet you might encounter the Oracle, which is where the DLC starts.

It's a new story all contained in one planet, with everything being handcrafted instead of procgen.

On a side note, I can't remember the last time I played a DLC that added new mechanics

EDIT: folks, it's nice that we're sharing games with DLCs that alter or add game mechanics, but let's not forget that I said "I can't remember the last time I played"

Well it is an expansion pack, but nowadays I guess the distinction is kinda lost. I haven't gotten to start it yet since I'm battling terrible performance right now (a 3080 and 7800x3d are getting 40fps on low with DLSS performance on 2160p), I also haven't seen anything about the DLC, but I expect it to have some new shouts starborn powers, weapons/weapon types and some 20+ hours of content judging by the 40£ tag.

Isn't the mobile version 1:1 with the desktop? If so, how is this "kinda expensive" if it's the same product that's considered cheap?

Region meaning country

Virkkunen,
@Virkkunen@fedia.io avatar

That is not how the new families work. The new on all you need to do is sent an invite and they'll be able to join the family. No need to log in their computers or authorise anything, just a simple invite.

Virkkunen,
@Virkkunen@fedia.io avatar

That is certainly not the case, either something unexpected happened or either of you didn't have the families beta on. I have never logged in someone else's PC and neither have someone logged on mine, I always use Steam on beta and I was able to send family invites to my friends, however only the ones in my region (country) were able to join.

Playing this game on my Deck I was always thinking "I should be able to play this on my phone as well".

I will buy it, I will play it, I will enjoy it, and I will severely hope to never have thoughts like that again

Is Elder Scrolls 6 doomed to fail? I can't see how it will work

After the massive blunder of Starfield, I cannot see how Elder scrolls 6 could possibly be successful. Everything points to the fact that they knew that the game was not even half finished, in my opinion, with major glaring issues, and they decided to just send it off anyway. The difference between this game and Oblivion is that...

Virkkunen,
@Virkkunen@fedia.io avatar

I agree with everything you said but to talk about Starfield, I think it even failed to be a Bethesda game. If their gimmick is to drop the ball, with Starfield they didn't even pick up the ball first to be able to drop it.

I'm not hopeful at all for TES6 and I'm a diehard TES fan, unless some major changes happen internally (and no, the engine is not the problem, it's who's developing in it and who's directing it all).

Virkkunen,
@Virkkunen@fedia.io avatar

There are amazing and impressive games being made in Build engine (the one from classic DOOM) even today. The engine is not the issue, it's who's using it and how.

Gamers go all high and mighty with their expletives against creation engine but it doesn't matter, they could use an abacus or unrealdot unitybite rered 6 engine for all that it's worth and the games could still come out bad if they don't change how they approach and develop it.

Virkkunen,
@Virkkunen@fedia.io avatar

I think we oughta wait for the game to at least leave the alpha, where huge changes happen from night to day, before concluding how toxic the game and mechanics will be

Virkkunen,
@Virkkunen@fedia.io avatar

Well, double check that your bonds are ALT for the details menu and the number keys for the skills. If it still fails, you could always bind a mouse region to click on wherever the skills are and use it as a mode shift

Even Fable 1 and 2 were plagued by his lies, despite still being good games, but people tend to forget that.

It always surprised me how people keep falling for Peter Scamyneaux

It genuinely upsets me that Valve spent their time and resources on another Dota variation

Like for many other people, Valve single player experiences were one of my favorite of all time growing up. I considered both Half-Life and Portal to be masterpieces. It’s true they’ve always been distracted with multiplayer games as well, things like Counter-Strike or Team Fortress and I did play them for sure, because I...

"An overwatch looking moba shooter"

No, it plays like Battleborn and Monday Night Combat, a third person shooter with moba elements. It's not overwatch, it's not Dota.

Virkkunen,
@Virkkunen@fedia.io avatar

And isn't everything derivative? What's the issue with that? If feel like you're really trying to gather negativity towards this game simply because it doesn't pander to your tastes

Virkkunen,
@Virkkunen@fedia.io avatar

Because it's not identical. SMITE plays like the top down mobas but in a third person perspective. Deadlock plays like a third person shooter with moba elements.

Virkkunen,
@Virkkunen@fedia.io avatar

People would still be talking about it if it were a flop, nonetheless this game has sold almost 2.5 million copies on Steam alone, far from being a flop.

The studio and the CEO have a history of misoginy and sexism, so they're trying to block reviewers to speak about it

Virkkunen,

There is no NDA to sign or anything though, only this pop up warning. Valve can't sue you for sharing details of the game but they absolutely can remove you from the play testing and/or ban you from ever playing it again for this.

Virkkunen,
@Virkkunen@fedia.io avatar

It's a closed alpha test claiming everything is placeholder content and could/will change while they flesh out the design, hence why they don't want you to share anything.

Virkkunen,
@Virkkunen@fedia.io avatar

It's actually closer to Battleborn. Like the other commenter said, it's more of a third person shooter with MOBA elements. There's focus on movement (you can dash, double jump, crouch slide, some characters fly), headshots and distance change the damage and melee/parry are just a button, while every character has guns as their man attack means. For the moba elements, it changes a bit since there's 4 lanes and it's a 6x6.

Virkkunen,
@Virkkunen@fedia.io avatar

Valve keeping up with the trend of "worst kept secrets"

Well it's very intentional I believe. You can invite an unlimited number of friends and there's no NDA or anything, they just casually ask you to not share details about the game since it's still a work in progress and in alpha, despite it looking like mostly finished to be fair. Characters are fully voiced and nothing really screams placeholder content, and most updates are regarding "balancing" and mechanic changes, just trying out what's best.

Runs perfectly fine on Linux though, with DX11 or Vulkan. On Windows, Vulkan has some performance issues that make it quite unenjoyable, but in Linux for me it plays a lot better with Vulkan than Windows DX11.

Virkkunen,
@Virkkunen@fedia.io avatar

I wouldn't say that's the case because it's Valve, and they work on a very unique way. Besides, the work they did with Proton, SteamOS and Steam Deck shows that at no point they believe developing for Linux is waste of efforts or an afterthought. They go out of the usual way to make things better for Linux. I fully expect them to port Deadlock to Linux once it hits beta or release.

Virkkunen,
@Virkkunen@fedia.io avatar

Yeah I get what you mean, but with Linux gaming I think it's great enough that it runs with Proton and no one is blocking it. I also believe they'll port it to native Linux after the alpha stage is done, but remember that the game is in a closed alpha state, so at no point this should be taken as "Valve not dogfooding their platform". All we can do right now is wait and see.

Yuzi provided means to grab keys and firmware from a Switch console, which seems to be a big red flag and a reason why Nintendo went after them. Sudachi also has guides and download links for decryption keys and Switch firmware. From what I can see ryujinx only provides some guides on how to get the keys from a Switch but no apparent download links or "shortcuts"

Besides, we should not be pointing fingers at emulator devs. Companies are not your friend, we're just a means to profit for them.

I had a dualsense before, bought it thinking of those features. Turns out that a few games had support for it on PC, and most were shooters so I wouldn't play using a controller.

The battery was abysmal too, it would barely last 4 hours. I've heard on some places that it was due to the touchpad being polled for input all the time, draining the battery.

Moved over to a 8bitdo ultimate Bluetooth with Hall sticks and couldn't be happier
