I love this game. It’s a cell shaded coming of age adventure where you ride your scooter around the desert and explore ruins or meet unique characters. It’s easily worth full price imo so this is definitely a steal.

PS XBOX and Nintendo are all in the same market, along with Steam, Epic, GOG, etc. The video gaming market. MS will probably still sell an “XBOX”, it just won’t be locked down to the XBOX game store anymore. This is a win for everyone.
Yes it has a higher initial cost, but it will be lower in the long run. Finance that shit through Klarna or some shit and you’ll still come out on top.
It’s about a decade old but it’s the couch version of Steam, completely navigable with a controller. If you’ve ever seen a Steam Deck, that’s just Big Picture Mode.
Enjoy your gaming. I picked up a couple of things already. And DMC1-4 are now in the Good Old Games program. Steam’s sale is supposed to start this Friday, if I’m not mistaken.
They’re much worse, for a myriad of reasons, but mainly because they are extremely litigous and overprotective of their IP to the extent that they regularly kill open source emulation projects that support games they don’t even sell, and also shut down any kind of fan-made projects or events.
Here’s the thing most people still miss about the Steam Deck—and I’m saying this as someone who’s been yelling about it since forever—is that for decades, the PC had countless exclusive games that never set foot on a console. No ports, no Nintendo love, no Sony handshake—nothing....
The Steam Deck brings about a conversation about what a console is. To me, it’s something that plugs into the TV and doesn’t require KBM, and in that regard it very much is.
It’s very likely that the Switch 2 will far outsell all other PC handhelds combined. And that is very much a loss. Not just to Valve, not just to PC gamers, but to everyone.
I sure as hell am glad I bought my Switch and and several games second hand
I had a Switch but I sold it after realizing that even second hand games sell for 90% of new. I’ve no idea how the economics of that situation works out…
Physical goods are no different in that when you pre-order something you really have no idea what you’re getting. You’re counting on the reputation of the company to deliver on their claims. Which is often a bad idea.
Looking for some advice. My Switch Lite is approaching the end of its life and given that a Switch 2 is basically the same price as an OLED Steamdeck I was thinking it might be a good time to jump back to PC gaming....
The only reason you should buy a Switch is if you have no self respect, don’t give a shit about being in an abusive relationship with Nintendo, and don’t care about sending thousands of dollars to a company that hates you to get an artificially limited device, and absolutely MUST play Nintendo first-party games, in the intended fashion.
The Deck is such a better device in nearly every way.
“Although users own the hardware, the software that’s needed to run it is subject to a license agreement,” attorney Jon Loiterman told Ars. “If you violate the license terms, Nintendo has the right to revoke your access to that software. It’s less common for software makers to revoke access to software in a way that disables hardware you bought from them, but the principle is the same.”
If SIE Inc determines that you have violated this Agreement’s terms, SIE Inc may itself or may procure the taking of any action to protect its interests such as disabling access to or use of some or all System Software, disabling use of this PS5 system online or offline, termination of your access to PlayStation Network, denial of any warranty, repair or other services provided for your PS5 system, implementation of automatic or mandatory updates or devices intended to discontinue unauthorized use, or reliance on any other remedial efforts as reasonably necessary to prevent the use of modified or unpermitted use of System Software.
Although I’ve never heard of any reports of that, and I’d love to see it tested in a courtroom. Deliberately bricking someone else’s hardware because YOU believe for some reason that they’re not using it properly is on a whole other level than just disabling online accounts. It’s vindictive.
That’s why the first thing I do when I buy a new game is to turn off the internet and boot the game. If it doesn’t boot or work offline, I refund it. And I just don’t buy games that have Denuvo.
I usually start on easy mode and then steadily increase difficulty as I go. Nothing will make me refund a game faster than being 20 minutes in and dying 74 times in an impossible encounter. LoP is one of those games.
The difficulty is not a problem for me so much as the very slow movements. It takes like 2 seconds to swing a sword. Meanwhile the opponent is still attacking. Just can’t figure these games out, myself 😮💨
It’s a combination of a huge variety of attributes and an endless supply. I just get anxiety about walking past a super powerful weapon or dropping it in exchange for something else without realizing it.
Could be worse. GOG’s approach is super annoying, and a lot of platforms (like fucking Apple) actually require the use of insecure and invasive SMS verification. And as far as I know Steam hasn’t been hit with any data breaches since 2011.
