SandLight,

It’s only kind of a rogue like from what I could tell. It doesn’t really have permanent death, though the dungeons are random each time you enter so if you die in one you need to start anew in there.

It’s cool though

SandLight,

Just bought and played through Pony Island. $.75 and 2.5 hours later, a nice little experience.

SandLight,

Yup. I’ve been doing a yearly randomizer of Oot for several years. It’s really comfort food for me.

Also, there a build of SoH that runs on a hacked switch so I can play it from the couch :)

SandLight,

I had a Fisher Price pirates point and click adventure when I was… 6? I adored it so that I guess. Also there was a Muppets Treasure Island point and click adventure from back in the day. I’m sure that counts and is what you’re looking for.

SandLight,

Too be fair, if the source is on GitHub then anyone can download it and build it without too much worry of unity’s recent fuckery.

SandLight,

Tbf, I’d hardly call the Warframe reference recent. Didn’t he come out like 5 years ago?

SandLight,

Part of it is just leveling up your citadel. Some is the game dripfeeds new systems and buildings to you that make things more complicated but also help with happiness. A lot of it is just learning what it takes to keep people happy.

Keep playing on difficulties that feel manageable, and when it starts to feel like you can handle it, then bump up the difficulty then.

SandLight,

This game is great. I don’t usually play city builders and I have 80 hours in it or something. Really fun to pick up for an hour or two when you want something that is challenging but also chill.

SandLight,

It’s already hit the first stretch goal! Can’t wait for it’s release.

SandLight,

Yeah, I hate that my game is far enough along that it would be… infeasible to restart development in a new engine, but still needs enough work that the uncertainty of Unity is going to be with me for quite some time still.

Would you prefer if games had a separate difficulty setting for boss fights? angielski

I usually play games on “normal” difficulty these days, for a balanced challenge. However, I don’t particularly enjoy boss fights, or at least I don’t enjoy the extra challenge associated with them. Was thinking it would be nice if games had a separate setting so I could just set boss fights to “easy”, while not...

SandLight,

I wouldn’t mind but I also maybe wouldn’t use it. Even though I’m with you. Boys fights are fine set pieces but not really my favorite part most the time. I’ve had ribs of fun with with ring and DS3, but what I like about then is the setting, exploration, and tension moving from bonfire to bonfire.

I’m stubborn though and would have a hard time convincing myself that it’s ok to decrease the difficulty and not cheating/missing out on the intended game.

SandLight,

I like Ryujinx because it’s focus on doing things the “Switch” way. In so much as it has better mod support for things that require the Switches OS and not just skin mods

SandLight,

Wish there was a way to rebind controls. Really missing numpad for movement

SandLight,

That said, I have my 8bitdo grips rebound to be stick buttons, and I have the stick buttons removed.

Even if I don’t get more options, I still get better options.

SandLight, (edited )

How hard is it to convert a project to Godot? I’m about a year in on one in unity but getting cold feet over their pricing changes.

SandLight, (edited )

I agree. I played the heck out of it and really got my money’s worth, but much of that time spent playing I couldn’t help but feel it would have been better if

A) I hadn’t played BotW

B) I had skipped most of the side questing (except for the sky which was the best parts of the game imo) and just powered through the main story beats.

I felt like I had done all the sky content in my first 1/4 of the game except for the [Spoiler Area] which was a real shame.

SandLight,

But if Amazon does it, it will be a rushed out steaming pile with half the features and twice the price, as is their custom.

SandLight,

It’s ok, if you want to see some gameplay you can probably watch the previous game.

SandLight,

It’s easy to overlook because of the graphics, but Caves of Qud is a really interesting game that fits your criteria.

It’s hard to explain just what it really is or what makes it great, but it has a good mixture of generated and written content that keeps it interesting.
