Today’s game is Half Life 2. I heard it got a UI update specifically for Steam Deck, so I had to try it. I ended up playing way more than I meant too (made it all the way to the Boat Segment and got stuck on the helicopter fight). I forgot how damn good this game is, it’s hard for me to resist playing it too and...
After making a decent chunk in 100% L.A. Noire, i went back to (Modded) Skyrim to take a break. I took this while walking from solitude to Winterhold to start the mage’s guild quest. I believe it’s right outside of Solitude
gods. you said “mages guild” and I was reminded how much I miss the actual mages guild.
but i do like the college. and modded skyrim can be nice and peaceful when you don’t know what to play. i just took a break from another action heavy game and went to modded skyrim as well.
no? actually I’m pretty glad they’re not spoilng everything. sometimes companies can overshare before a release and get spoilery. thank goodness that’s not the case here.
oh no I love all the games. i know there’s a lot of “Origins purists” that love to trash talk any game in the franchise that isn’t origins, but most of us love all the games. for different reasons.
i sincerely hope you have branched out to other games that were more like Origins in the years since it’s been out. and I hope you’ve found ones you like.
I love BG3 as well. They’re all great games. and Dragon Age 2 has a special place in my heart. I love how the combat and focus changed to one specific city. It made me appreciate the day/night design and the stories (for good or bad) that took place there.
I just have noticed a trend of Origins people that come into any dragon age thread just to talk smack, and I think it’d probably be better to just play a game you like instead of focusing on how much you hate ones you don’t. ya know? especially considering how excited people are for the new game.
There’s always more games of a genre to play. And Origins is fantastic. I always recommend new Dragon Age players start at Origins and play all the way through Inquisition for the full experience.
This game is pretty epic, even all these years later. As someone who completely skipped it but loves exploration & space games, I’m kicking myself for not having found this game sooner....
I’m Just curious about, do you prefer RPGs (Role-Playing Games) or FPS (First-Person Shooters)? Personally, I love getting lost in the story and character development of RPGs, but the fast-paced action of FPS games is hard to resist. What about you? Which one do you enjoy more and why? Let’s hear your thoughts!
So some months ago I watched a trailer for an upcoming game that looks pretty neat, but of course I can’t remember the name for the life of me. Maybe y’all can help me. I don’t think it’s been released yet....
I went to ddg looking for yoga with solaire and then found nothing and was heartbroken.
but yeah I’m a huge HL and HP fan in general and I’m planning to skip this one because I don’t really care about quidditch. its only real interest to me was as a cool plot tool. nothing more.
don’t waste your time with these weirdos. they throw around labels of transphobia for daring to disagree with anyone that doesn’t share their narrow, obsessive world views.
Maybe because most people experience the art? and don’t feel the need to inflate their ego by thinking their interpretation or experience is the best way to interpret something?
this feels like a bunch of nerds sitting around complaining that gamers miss stuff, while not understanding that most gamers don’t miss it. they just experience it and don’t feel the need to externalize it.
how do you know I’m not appreciative of the art as I’m playing?
I’ve seen quite a lot of symbolism, meaning, and expressions through video games. but not every video game is made for artistic expression. they can be, to great effect IMHO.
either way, how the art is experienced is entirely up to the individual player. and there’s no definitive way to experience art. that… kind of defeats the purpose of art, ya know?
Apologies that this is not a pure gaming question, but I’d really like to hear people’s opinion on the Borderlands movie trailer and especially from people who have played the games. That’s why I’m asking here, I hope that’s ok.
I’m avoiding everything about it. video game movies are generally a misrepresentation of the source material entirely. so I never have hope for any video game movie. and borderlands is a franchise I actually really love.
and after seeing the cast, I think it’s going to be a disaster. 😭

That’s way sooner than I expected. We’ve barely seen this game and it’s already releasing in 2 months.
