Hdcase,

Phil Spencer, be disingenuous? Well, I never!

PlayStation’s first Remote Play dedicated device, PlayStation Portal remote player, to launch later this year at $199.99 (blog.playstation.com) angielski

PlayStation Portal remote player brings the PS5 experience to the palm of your hand. It includes the key features of the DualSense wireless controller, including adaptive triggers and haptic feedback*. The vibrant 8-inch LCD screen is capable of 1080p resolution at 60fps, providing a high definition visual experience that’s...

Hdcase,

No you can use it to play anywhere as long as you have an internet connection.

Hdcase,

I’m interested but I’m thinking it may be too difficult for me.

Hdcase,

I’m actually pretty salty about this. I paid for early access knowing there’d be bugs and unfinished content, but I didn’t think a week after launch I still wouldn’t even be able to play it.

Hdcase,

I played the beta and I really enjoyed it. Anyway not very helpful pro tips.

Hdcase,

I would, but two of my buddies also bought it with the idea that we’d play together and they’re happy to ride it out. ¯_(ツ)_/¯

Hdcase,

I think my friend Mike Zimmerman and I may have beaten it… But it’s been so long it’s impossible to say for sure. All I know it was one of the hardest games out there back then, and hard games were not in short supply in the 80’s.

Hdcase,

Holy shit I had no idea. The Xbox One X really is more powerful, at least in some regards, than a system that came out 3 years later.

Hdcase,

Yep and a lot of times, we won’t even hear about it. It’ll just be another game that happens to be on Playstation and not Xbox, a defacto exclusive of sorts.

Hdcase,

For me, it will always be Link in Soul Calibur II. Absolutely iconic.

Hdcase,

Yes it was… It was borderline unfair, haha.

Hdcase,

And lose the iconic popped collar look? Never!

Hdcase,

As they continue to spend billions buying publishers and developers to shore up their Game Pass offerings, expect prices to go up and the deals to get worse.

Hdcase,

That’s a real bummer, especially as I ended up really liking Callisto. I hope everyone lands on their feet.

Hdcase,

Not great. The OLED is a game changer, it’s such a beautiful screen and the colors really pop.

That said, I’m still interested in this particularly if Switch games are backwards compatible.

Xbox's biggest crisis right now isn't games. It's hardware. (Opinion - Jez Corden) (www.windowscentral.com) angielski

"Today, PlayStation revealed that its PS5 has sold 40 million units. Microsoft doesn’t share hardware numbers typically, but court documents, math, and slides from an ID@Xbox in Brazil seem to suggest the Xbox Series X|S line-up is around 20-23 million units sold globally. That essentially puts the PS5 at a 2:1 advantage...

Hdcase,

I agree with you about the brand loyalty. But the fact remains, they put out a console in 2020 that in some ways was actually weaker in power than the console they put out in 2017. Great for customers since it’s so cheap, but not great for developers when other modern systems are so much more powerful. Larian can’t even put out Baldur’s Gate 3 on XSS because it can’t handle split screen for that game, which means no XSX version either.

As for games… Everyone’s different but as a big fan of the Xbox during the 360 era, the Xbox Series have no (exclusive) games that have appealed to me personally. And the ones that I am excited about (Fable, State of Decay 3, Everwild) have no release dates and are almost certainly years away.

Hdcase,

Well Sony tried twice and it didn’t really pan out either time.

Hdcase,

I thought some people would think it was interesting. I’m sorry if you weren’t one of those people and I hope you had a good day.

Hdcase,

My guess would be unless you jailbreak it, none of that will be there. Just Playstation apps.

Hdcase,

The deal is for 10 years. That sounds like a lot but in reality that’s just a bit longer than the average console generation. I would not be at all surprised if after the 10 years they make CoD completely Xbox exclusive.

Hdcase,

This game went from a “maybe” to a “never” for me. Great job, Overkill.

Phil Spencer announces Call of Duty deal with PlayStation

“We are pleased to announce that Microsoft and @PlayStation have signed a binding agreement to keep Call of Duty on PlayStation following the acquisition of Activision Blizzard. We look forward to a future where players globally have more choice to play their favorite games.”...

  • Hdcase,

    10 years probably.

    Hdcase,

People like my friend Dave, I guess. He’s got Game Pass practically for life (bought through one of those insane 'convert all your Xbox Gold time to Game Pass for $1" deals) and he wants as many “free” games as he can get. Like Call of Duty, last time he bought a Call of Duty game was probably 10 years ago, but he’s still very excited about the prospect of Call of Duty on Game Pass.

    Hdcase,

Yes but I suspect it will be even harder to do then.

    Hdcase,

As primarily a Playstation and Nintendo gamer, I think this acquisition is going to be 99% bad news for me. Oh well.

    Hdcase,

    “Execs behind Starfield”

The same execs that bought the company already half way through development of Starfield, and rather than delivering anything new or of value, only wanted to make sure it was extinguished on other systems?

As for “execs behind Halo,” the less said the better. I’ve never seen a series driven so hard into the ground.

    Hdcase,

I would argue there’s a huge difference between, say, one year of timed exclusivity for one game, versus buying an entire publisher and making every single one of their future games exclusive.

    Hdcase,

Phil Spencer said every single future Zenimax game is going to be exclusive, so it’s not just a few being held back.

    Hdcase,

I don’t think that’s true. Microsoft was afraid of this happening but there was zero evidence it was going to.

    Hdcase,

Well, ask me when Sony buys an entire publisher and makes all their future games exclusive.
