Not to mention the physics are stable enough that people were building helicopters using stage seperators and landing gear long before we got any real joints.
Its a shame too because it ended up with some really amazing titles (got one as a hand-me-down from an older sibling) that nintendo now keeps trying to kill.
Honestly what roblox kids are willing to do for pitiful pay is scary, if you work in any kind of creative digital medium those kids will do days of your job for a fiver if any real money at all. It won’t be industry quality or anything but damn we got a whole digital version of sending kids down the mines. (And some of these roblox games can have unexpectedly big players behind them exploiting kids)
Cyberpunk has really come into its own. I just wish it had more cosmetic options, outside a few iconic outfits there aren’t many options for good looking clothing unless you want to look like a member of a grunge band or go full casual daywear.
Nah man BL2 just has the worst scaling ever. Weapon damage scales logarithmically with level (more or less) so you level up once and all your gear is immediately behind. The other games in the series are way less harsh with it.
Martials are “balanced” its just that they’re balanced around like 8 encounters a day with multiple short rests so that casters actually have to conserve their slots. Which is of course a stupid goddamn way to balance the game because no ones going to play it that way.
Also games have gotten way more complicated since the gameboy colour era. I’ve coded a basic 2D physics engine from scratch (literally just circles with soft collisions) and its not just enough to set up the vector math correctly. You can literally make a true to real life physics model (as far as the math of infinitely rigid perfect spheres on a perfectly flat plane goes anyway) and have all sorts of problems crop up because computers aren’t the universe and order of computation is a bitch.
On one hand people can be jerks, on the other hand there definetaly is a trend of releasing broken games with a ‘patch it later’ mentality.
Its kind of hard to take a side because people being assholes isn’t the solution but remaining civil is just going to encourage the behaviour and we’ll get even more broken releases.
Didn’t colonial marine turn out to actually have really good AI that totally changed the game feel that had been broken by a single misplaced semi-colon or something?
3 struck the perfect balance for me, it was like playing an action movie that didn’t take itself too seriously while still maintaining a tenuous grasp on reality. 4 fully jumped the shark for me and was hard to enjoy.
