AnonStoleMyPants,

Started Valheim again with a friend of mine. Having a blast! No mods but we kinda wanted to add a few for an immersive no-map run.

AnonStoleMyPants,

I don’t get it. Actually well working AI NPCs sound fucking amazing. To have an actual conversation about anything in the game by typing your questions? That’s like the wet dream of an RPG.

Have writers write the background info, some lore stuff, “books” about stuff in the game etc.

I want to have a conversation with all the NPCs and choose from four premade questions about a quest I am on.

And yes, obviously they have to work well or they’re extremely awkward and anti-immersive.

AnonStoleMyPants,

I started playing Enderal, the full overhaul mod for Skyrim. Seems quite fun. Maybe 10h in now.

AnonStoleMyPants,

I should play Rimworld one of these days. Always heard good things but just never got around it.

What's the best headset to use for both PC and console right now? angielski

So, I currently have a HyperX Cloud Orbit S headset that I’ve been using for both my PC and my PS4. It’s served me pretty well for a few years, but over the past few months the band has snapped and been superglued/reglued 5-6 times. It still works fine, but I’m getting tired of repairing it over and over, and feel it’s...

AnonStoleMyPants,

If 7.1 isn’t necessary and you already have a mic, I would suggest you take a peek at just normal audiophile headphones. If you don’t mind Reddit, some good pointers and ideas in this thread reddit.com/…/has_anyone_used_audiophile_headphone….

I’ve been using Beyerdynamic DT880 pro for a few years and they’re amazing. Comfortable as hell and pads can be removed easily and cleaned or swapped. Great sound, zero regrets with these headphones. The entire DT lineup from them is very good as far as I know. Another go-to option is Sennheiser’s 600 series, but they’re a bit more expensive. There are numerous others but those are the ones that I know of.

I would suggest browsing what the /r/HeadphoneAdvice has to say, asking about audiophile headphones for gaming is a common question.

Players who don't like survival games as a genre: Which survival games are your personal exceptions, which ones have you enjoyed nonetheless and why? angielski

Personally, I really don’t like most of these games due to the tedium and frustration that comes with hunger/thirst mechanics. Most of the exceptions that I do actually like either make up for it through something else that elevates the experience enough - or they either don’t have these mechanics or allow for players to...

AnonStoleMyPants,

Valheim.

Great and fun combat, mod support, multiplayer, good building mechanics, doesn’t feel frustrating to play.

AnonStoleMyPants,

Raids are fun but the need of moats is kinda annoying. I’d rather have more difficult raids but without raids destroying my BEAUTIFUL BUILDINGS GOD DAMMIT.

Hmm I wonder if there is a mod to make moat building easier. Or just nuke troll raids, that exists I’m sure.

AnonStoleMyPants,

Not really. Walls get destroyed easily, you still need a moat to keep trolls away.

"Oxygen Not Included" on sale on Steam this weekend (store.steampowered.com) angielski

Oxygen Not Included is on sale this weekend. If (like me) you happen to have wanted to play it for a long time, but were worried you lack the patience/stamina and give up after a couple of hours, the price is now at a level where buyer’s regret is rather unlikely.

AnonStoleMyPants,

How close is this game to Don’t Starve? I tried getting into it with a friend of mine but couldn’t and dropped it after a couple of runs.

AnonStoleMyPants,

Ah thanks.

AnonStoleMyPants,

How’s the pvp in ffxiv?

AnonStoleMyPants,

Yeah I’m aware of gw, just wondering about ffxiv. I always got the idea in my head that pvp doesn’t really exist in that game, hence the question.

AnonStoleMyPants,

Thanks, maybe there is something there for pvp then.

What is something (feature, modes, settings...) you would like to see become a standard in video games? angielski

I’ve been thinking about making this thread for a few days. Sometimes, I play a game and it has some very basic features that are just not in every other game and I think to myself: Why is this not standard?! and I wanted to know what were yours....

AnonStoleMyPants,

And to rewatch if you accidentally dismiss the cutscene.

AnonStoleMyPants,

Kmb. If it is nor implemented well in the game I just skip the game.

AnonStoleMyPants,

Looks dope. Have been thinking of trying hoi4 with a friend of mine for a long time but the cost of multiple expansions is a bit much, even though there is a steam sale going. Maybe one of these days.

AnonStoleMyPants,

I feel like microtransactions are “ok” for people on general as long as the game is good. If the game is well made, has a soul, and not a cash grab, people tend to not care about microtransactions. Except the occasional “fuck, this is 10e?”. Like path of exile for instance.

But if the game is half baked, released waaaay too early because of higher ups said that the need money now and not 6 months from now, THEN they become an issue. Games belong to this category soooo of then these days that it’s just what happens. But the microtransactions are not the reason, they just exasperate the issue.

If a great game like Elden ring would’ve had cosmetic sets you could buy, would it have undermined the “greatness” of the game? I really don’t see it happening. Unless they’re like super aggressive or meant to trivialise the game, like, continue fighting the boss only for 2e! Here’s a popup mentioning this each time you die.

AnonStoleMyPants,

You get tens of hours of high-quality gameplay for free when you go through the campaign. How is that not saying much? I feel like it is not a bad deal at all. If you like the game when you probably need to drop some money to get most out of the experience. I think that’s fine. Though it is a fine line where they are walking in terms of monetization through inventory management. Would be interesting to know how large portion of the income is from stash tabs etc vs cosmetics.

AnonStoleMyPants,

Bland, really? I’ve never thought it being bland. Though I have not played the game aftee the 10 acts became a thing so maybe it has changed.

AnonStoleMyPants,

I should play the campaign through again. Haven’t played the game after the 10 acts became a thing so essentially I’m just a noob again. I’ve mostly read that people are sick of the campaign because they have already played it a billion times, and not that first timers are having a bad time.

AnonStoleMyPants,

Yeah in divinity the origin characters were great, and their storylines fun. I kinda hoped BG3 would have the same because I really wanted to play an origin character with some cool sub-plot that we uncover while playing the main story.
