The last sentence suggests that, in some cases, pirates can get content sooner than their paying counterparts. This availability issue is often seen as a main driver of piracy. While improvements can be made on the supply side, the course urges teens to postpone their needs instead.

Really? Who would’ve guessed that piracy is a service problem? How about you improve your shit so people don’t feel inclined to pirate it. Who’s gonna pay for a shittier experience?

reddthat, w Usenet Providers security
@reddthat@reddthat.com avatar

You are buying a legal service to access Usenet. What you do with that service is up to you.

Pick a provider that allows you to use crypto if you are worried about putting your identity to it: usenetnow.net/cryptoaccept/
They even allow monero!

Edit: I wish they had a referral plan, by now after recommending them so much I easily would have got a free month

matey,

I like that they have XMR and no middlemen. I use usenight, which does take crypto but has neither of those features - but costs $20/yr instead of $20/quarter.

thisusernameistaken,

Usenight is full speeds only at certain times of the day right? Plus the retention isnt as high so that is probably the price difference. Frugalusenet and Blocknews also take crypto the same way (same owners) and price is a bit more reasonable if you dont need the super high retention all the time but yes i agree about crypto. if you have to use a payment processor for it it sort of defeats the purpose.

usenight

:O This is too perfect for Australians! Pity its only 29xx days retention, but still pretty damn good.

There’s a large possibility that your kids will be apathetic towards the media that you watch now. When’s the last time you listened to a song or watched tv from the 50?

(I can hear you typing right now; yes, I myself even watch the Adams Family and listen to psychedelic rock every now and again, but that’s not typical.)

ScaredDuck, w How can I find my schools Adobe Premiere/Photoshop Elements 2020 key?

I know this is a piracy board, but please don’t steal from your school and just get a cracked copy if you need it.

Flatworm7591, w How can I find my schools Adobe Premiere/Photoshop Elements 2020 key?

m0nkrus exists for various cracked Adobe software.

jws_shadotak, w New tracker after rarbg that works?

Are you port forwarding for torrents? That’s usually why torrents don’t work when they have reported seeders.

torrents-csv.ml is a great indexer. It combines several other indexers and prunes the inactive torrents.

anon_cloud,

Thanks! I remember now I had left my network interface option on a different VPN than the one I’m using currently.

bartolomeo,

XD

FeelzGoodMan420,

Don’t most VPNs block Port Forwarding?

rambos,

Yes, but not all of them

swirls,

AirVPN has port forwarding. Don’t use proton vpn, the forwarding does not work for that.

jws_shadotak,

Seconding AirVPN. I’ve been using them since Mullvad removed port forwarding.

IronKrill,

Easy solution to that: switch VPN.

portside,

Also, fun fact - one of the lemmy developers also developed torrents–csv

anon_cloud,

Yep!

I just miss aaaaarg.fail, it was nothing but Critical Theory and Situationist texts…

gonzoknowsdotcom1,

?

dingus,
@dingus@lemmy.ml avatar

It just doesn’t host the same amount of content that it used to and redirects to a different, similar site, these days.

Maybe I’m just not in the cool kids club anymore and don’t know how to get into the archives.

gonzoknowsdotcom1,

Zlibrary hosts all its data but they run a tor instance as well as ipfs which is distributed hosting

McCainRBGcreampie, (edited )
@McCainRBGcreampie@hexbear.net avatar

It’s still around, just redirects US IP addresses. I never bothered with an account though, I just browse their collections and download elsewhere.

dingus,

RIP US crit theory nerds. Guess I’ll have to try connecting with my VPN.

jsdz,

One of my greatest Internet accomplishments was randomly typing “aaaaarg” into a search engine one day and having that come up. It was pretty good.

Had to reinstall browser today. Looked for donation button when I re-downloaded. Found a whole bunch of contributors, but no donation button.

to55, (edited ) w Real zlibrary link

Annas-archive.org is a more complete collection without download limits or registration requirement.

gonzoknowsdotcom1,

The only problem is the slow download speeds unless your using ipfs but many people don’t. Plus just use a temp email on zlibrary

gonzoknowsdotcom1, w How can I find my schools Adobe Premiere/Photoshop Elements 2020 key?

Imagine being so brainwashed you actually believe modern copyright laws allows for free speech. Does this person constantly live with their heads in the clouds or are they just naturally braindead?
