NuPNuA, w The Outer Worlds was made with casual RPG players in mind, pitched as 'Fallout meets Firefly' | TweakTown

Personally, I had no issue with it. MS have so many RPG developers under their wing now, that it’s good they all have their own identity in game styles, Bethesda makes the BIG RPGs, Obsidian make the smaller more focused ones, etc.

Instigate, w The Outer Worlds was made with casual RPG players in mind, pitched as 'Fallout meets Firefly' | TweakTown

Honestly I thought that it was more bare-bones than, say Fallout, because this was Obsidian’s attempt at a large-scale RPG without the backing of a big time publisher like Bethesda, LucasArts, Ubisoft etc. I had no idea that it was purposefully made more shallow to cater to more casual players.

This article is a hot mess of spelling mistakes and poor grammar. I see where the writing was going but with all those errors it’s hard to take it seriously.

ThatGuyFromWork, w We Found & Saved 10 YEARS of Lost Video Game History

NoClip at it again. Valiant effort by then in preserving video game history. They need to get as much support as they can for the work they do

tehBishop, w Baldur's Gate, the RPG that marked a before and after in the genre

I’ve been replaying the Baldur’s Gate games lately and I still find them amazing.

I couldn’t afford them when they first came out since I was in high school so I’ve been buying all of them lately (including Planescape Torment). Next is Tyranny probably.

I’m looking for Pool of radiance Ruins of Myth Drannor but can’t seem to find it.

passepartout, w AMD will give away a copy of Starfield to those who buy Ryzen 7000

This is a bad omen for starfield imo. All the games i got with my AMD components last year (e.g. forspoken) were garbage. Maybe Bethesda is anticipating that they can’t keep up with the hype around the game which will be badly optimized or buggy at launch (like any other bethesda game) and try to save some profit.

But then again, most gamers have the worst impulse control and will even buy a steaming piece of shit if there’s a possibility to preorder it.

tlf, w Derail Valley: Simulator - Launch Trailer

This update improved the game in so many ways. It feels awesome to drive through stormy nights and unlike many other driving simulations the risk of crashing feels great too. Everyone how wants to find out how much work goes into operating locomotives should try this.

Has anyone checked for funny dev comments yet? Or very obvious hacks which were meant to be “temporary”?

IIRC all of the games also have workshop support where you can download romhacks.

ArchmageAzor, w Call of Duty is using clones of real players to mess with cheaters | Engadget

This actually sounds like a coverup in an SCP article.

“At 1700 hours the foundation became aware of an unknown digital entity in the video game Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 that would only make itself aware to cheaters. Foundation assets within Activision has announced this as a new anti-cheat system.”
