Amazing and beautiful game, the only issue I have with endless * series is that the combat always falls short for me, but you can still easily get a few dozen fun hours out of it.
That's a very naive perspective though. We're not blaming the guns for gun violence, it's the people, but restricting access to guns is still the proven way to reduce gun incidents. One day when everyone is enlightened enough to not need such restrictions then we can lift them but we're very far from that point, and the same goes for tools like "AI".
Very easy time if it's about commercial use (well, at least outside of china). Companies need to have licenses for the software they use, they have to obey copyright laws and trademarks, have contracts and permissions for anything they use in their day to day work. It's the same reason why no serious company wants to even touch any competitor's leaked source code when it appears online.
Just because AI tech bros live in a bubble of their own, thinking they can just take and repurpose anything they need, doesn't mean it should be like that - for the most case it isn't and in this case, the law just hasn't caught up with the tech yet.
I can give so many but you'll have to narrow down your preferences a bit ^^
I've recently been playing Remnant 2, Songs of Syx, Age of Darkness, dotAGE, Helldivers, Valheim, Against the Storm... all really impressive and amazing games made by (relatively) small studios or AA developers with a passion for games. If you're completely new to the indie scene you probably can't go wrong with Hades, Hollow Knight, Stardew Valley, Terraria
It was a bit frightening for me to see how quickly the mob turned on AH during this fiasco and just how much vitriol and propaganda has been generated on the subreddit like this is any other ingame operation with the associated shitposting... except this time it could very well shape the futures of real people and fate of the company for years to come.
Unfortunately this is the only way to accomplish anything. If there wasn't an outcry like this both AH and sony would just ignore any criticism and move on until it gets buried and forgotten. It's a world of extremes and the scales could have easily tipped into the other side, with people rightfully complaining about these shitty practices but getting ridiculed for complaining about just another account or sth.
I remember being confused by the ending but tbh never to the extent it ruined the rest of the franchise retroactively. Not even Andromeda managed to so that! I still have fond memories of ME and I'm constantly tempted to replay it with the legendary edition, if only I had the time.
Looks really promising but way too much in early access for me to risk that price tag, I'd rather try furthest frontier or the game from the settlers creator since they are further along iirc. I do look forward to trying it out one day tho, seems right up my valley if they manage to add some meaningful late game goals or challenges!
Wasn't that more for games like wizardry or the more modern example, legend of grimrock? It sounds more related to what a dnd party would do than just fighting hordes of enemies.
Really looking forward to getting this on the stable branch, despite some questionable aspects valheim remains one of my favorite gaming experiences and nothing else has lived up to it in recent years.
I'm a big fan of Levine and his games and I'm looking forward to Judas. It might not be a huge mainstream hit but I think it's going to be fantastic for some people, or at least interesting for everyone to see what has he been cooking all these years. It definitely sounds like his dream game he wanted to make for a while now
They are still being vague about the monetization (it does seem like it will have MTX) and I'm am completely certain that designing it with co-op in mind is going to ruin the singleplayer vibe and progression. Hopefully I'm proven wrong though
Ah, it recently announced a $48,000 spaceship bundle, the latest in an ongoing line, which contains every ship in the game and is apparently only accessible to those who’ve already spent $1,000…
I like to dunk on SC as much as the next guy but how can you say this at all with a straight face? For starters, can I walk around my ship? Is there a story-based campaign I can play through? Are there capital ships with dozens of players with different roles working on them?
SC will never get finished or live up to the promises it made but ED barely even tries to do anything beyond being a space truck simulator.
You can't walk around on ships in E:D so you're either mistaken or outright lying at this point. I'm not even going to get into talking about thargoids like it's a story campaign, or how co-op works in ED.
its a pretty fun game but i wasnt a big fan of how everything eventually boils down to logistic stations, there is one best (and practically only) way of doing things and its pretty bland. Hopefully this adds some spice
I'd say "i will pick it up on a sale in a year or two" but they're just going to release the enhanced / special / anniversary / superspace edition down the line too, so why bother
One of the best games I've played in recent memory, even during EA. Extremely polished and well designed, it's worth every cent and if this doesn't convince you I think it still has a free demo you can try.
Did you try it recently or during EA? They added an extensive guided tutorial/story now that gets you through the beginning.
Other than that, the best advice I ever got was not to go too wild with the glade openings, only do it if you need something otherwise you're just raising the hostility for no reason.
They have been amazing in terms of updates - regular meaningful updates every 2 weeks, it was amazing to see the game evolve so fast. I hope it means they just had a really good codebase and established workflow rather than they were crunching though.
Basically one year after the game was said to be never updated again, this giant bug fix and balance update just drops without any warning. And this happens just as the Microsoft deal is finalized and Bobby is leaving Activision at the end of the year....
I started playing it again recently and it's as good and fun as ever. If they start up the development again I hope they don't make it worse, I don't want hots2 with the same 'blizzard overwatch 2' mindset.
Oh yeah I played both before and after hots 2.0, I just don't want battle passes and overpriced skins. I always thought the gold, gem and shard prices were pretty fair and accessible in hots, which made me actually spend money on it more than any other game at the time... but apparently it wasn't designed in a way to draw the whales in so it didn't make as much money off them.
I'm tempted to agree but on the other hand, I'd rather see the budget go towards a better game than designing for coop. The first one wouldn't be atmospheric at all if you had a laggy friend floating around you all the time.
Plenty of other survival games that have coop and are better suited for it.
It will allow you to create your own experiences in the game by making something completely new or editing existing quests and content. We’re planning on releasing it for free in 2024....
I played the Steam version of the base game, with no DLC. I did not play the Spacer’s Choice “remaster” as it has a reputation for being broken and poorly put together. I played the game to completion on normal difficulty, completing most of the side quests, spending time with all my companions, and trying to get the most...
I found the corporate greed jokes overdone and the humor and commentary very shallow. The skill progression was boring (just numerical stat increases mostly), itemization basically nonexistent (just one overall outfit armor slot, also with minor stat increases?) and the combat was tedious. Maybe the story gets better later but I wasn't a fan of the overall lore or the way dialogue choices were written either.
I really wanted to like it since usually I'm a sucker for "own a spaceship and explore the world with your crew" stories and games but I bounced off OW so hard. Glad to hear other people had more fun with it but it's definitely not for everyone.
The anti capitalism jokes are just as relevant and funny today as they were back than
I agree they are just as relevant today, probably even more so, however I didn't find them that funny since they are just making the same "joke" all the time. They don't really say anything or go deeper into the situation beyond "haha corpos are cartoonishly evil", over and over and over again, there was no nuance and I expected more out of an obsidian game. It's all just a themepark with throwaway jokes.
Again, maybe it gets better later and I didn't get there, I only visited one or 2 planets after the first one and I couldn't stand it anymore so I never finished it.
but I’m pretty sure customers don’t actually want the same game and content for forever.
The success of long lasting MMOs like WoW, EVE, FFXIV, GW2, Warframe seems to suggest otherwise, as well does the longevity of games like Fortnite, LOL and other non-MMO gaas games. There are even other examples that I'd count - I'd call paradox games like stellaris GaaS as well since they live off constant updates (stellaris has had them for 7 years now and going) and paid DLC. Hell, there's people that have been playing Ark, Rust and games like that for a decade now.
So I'd say there is definitely an audience for it, a massive one, as long as its done well. Destiny devs just sucked at it and had years of controversies, this is just the latest of their fumbles.
More that there’s only so much you can do with a looter shooter
Warframe seems to disagree, for better or worse they have a new gimmick every few years to keep it interesting, and a pretty good and interesting story to go along with it. I'd sooner say it's just destiny's problem in this particular case.
Can't wait to get more Losomn content! Remnant 2 is an fun experience and a great follow-up to the first game, if you liked that one you definitely need to give R2 a try too
It was a ridiculous claim to begin with, there's no way they wouldn't see something like that when analyzing with internal tools or doing any performance runs.
I haven’t checked in on this game since around launch. Anyone want to bring me up to speed on what’s happening? I gather the latest expansion pack is priced differently than prior DLC?...
I had lots of fun with the game. Story is meh but gameplay was excellent, the balance of satisfying exploration and excellent combat kept me engaged to the end. Wish there was more to do with the settlements and some crazier hordes at the end (the game ends up being a bit too easy by the end but then again, I did most of the side content too), but it was still great.
My dream game would be Project Zomboid depth with Days Gone presentation and gameplay 😁
Have you played any of the modern incarnations of those games perhaps, and if so did you like them? I've been looking at Nebuchadnezzar for a while now but could never pull the trigger, seemed always kinda meh
I've seen Thronefall recently and it looked really cool, but it also apparently has just a few hours of content. You might enjoy it as a chill experience tho
I usually have similar stress playing management games but honestly, of all of them factorio really lets you do it at your own pace, especially if you torn off biter expansion. I'd often just say something like "ok this afternoon I'm redesigning the oil refineries because they are a mess" while everything else is just standing by waiting for me. Ticking these things off one by one is kind of the main attraction of games like these tbh
