Cheaper? yes. better? No. LLMs produce the most derivative inane BS that it would just act as filler. In classic RPGs and adventure games a lot of the filler dialogue was one line per NPC to represent a microcosm within a location. There’s nothing to be gained from theoretically infinite NPCs with theoretically infinite lines of pointless dialogue.
The entire first season of The Expanse should have just been one episode. It took me multiple tries to get into that show because the first season is so boring.
This trend of drip feeding mysteries started with Lost back in the 2000s and I find it incredibly frustrating.
I barely knew what the story was until you learn about it in the last episode. The rest of the show then moves forward with the significant discovery of that episode.
I appreciate the frank opinions here. This game got overhyped by ffxiv fans. You couldn’t get an honest impression on this game, it was just “ffxiv is the best game ever, and ffxvi is being made by the same team therefore this will be the best game ever”
Okay let me start with two heavy hitters right from the get go and don’t forget these are only personal oppinions and I absolute understand if you like those games. Good for you!...
At their best, the originals were about a hyper-competent adventurer who always had a plan and was unapologetically confident. She was like Xena and Indiana Jones combined.
It was already a pretty tired cliche at the time to make a gritty origin story when the first game came out. We got an uncertain, untrained, and unprepared Lara with a whimpering attitude.
By the third game they tried to act on the feedback about this, but instead of something closer to the original, she became Rambo, covering herself in mud, hiding in the shadows, stealth killing hordes of enemy soldiers.
I think the Uncharted series did what Tomb Raider remake series should have done.
