Haven’t really touched my Switch since I bought a Steam Deck: Superior in every way.

Good grief, that's an even more nightmarish video game image than the Assassin's Creed guy with two eyes bulging out from under a wig.

Silantic, w TCG games that aren't P2W hellscapes or are single player experiences?

I'll add another suggestion for Yu-Gi-Oh games. The only one I've played is Legacy of the Duelist: Link Evolution on Steam, and I'd recommend that. My understanding is that it has basically every card from the time it was released, so you have a lot of options for trying new things. Just make sure you get that, and not the original Legacy of the Duelist. Link Evolution has all the DLC from the original Legacy of the Duelist, plus link monsters and the VRAINS storyline, neither of which can be had for the original game.

And it's not quite a traditional TCG, but since it has heavy deckbuilding elements, I'd also recommend the Mega Man Battle Network series. Battles are more action-based than something like Pokemon or MtG, but all your special moves come from a deck of cards that you put together. Might be worth looking up some gameplay to see if it's something you may enjoy.

This is what LCGs/ECGs are for. Same thing without the random packs.

There are several old yugioh games on different consoles, more modern you’ve got games like Inscryption, Across the Obelisk, Helltrain, and just search the deckbuilder tag on steam.

Does this include Valve? I imagine that Valve is a huge part of Unity's sales...

Can someone ELI5 this for me? I’m up to speed on the runtime fee but the rest of the article was over my head.

Seems like unity owns an ad service provider and is now offering to waive this new fee if you use it instead of its more popular competitor.

The article implies that this is the entire reason behind the new fee, but seems like it’s just a guess.

The FOMO in that game drove me away from it.

snipgan, w No Man's Sky is enjoying its 'biggest month in the last few years', coinciding with the launch of Starfield
@snipgan@kbin.social avatar

From what I have seen, granted I haven't played it myself due to my burnout with Fallout 4, Starfield is just a Bethesda flavored No Man's Sky.

Not much to grab my attention and most people I have seen played it seem to put it at a 5-6/10 type of game. Good, but nothing really great.

Meanwhile we have an arguably more fleshed out space exploration game that is No Man's Sky to suit your itch, that is probably cheaper or on sale somewhere. Doesn't helping modding will take years to reach really big game altering levels as it took a while, If even that.

Tbh, No Mans Sky and Starfield have little in common except being space games. Starfield isn't a space exploration / space sim game. It's an RPG set in space. Starfield has more of a storyline and characters then No Man's Sky, they're different games for different people

kayjay,

I wouldn’t call Starfield Bethesda-flavored NMS, I’d call it a NMS-flavored Bethesda game. NMS and Starfield aren’t very comparable except for the setting.

conciselyverbose, w Square Enix games misfire due to being "single producer's fiefdom", report suggests

Why is letting a producer have control of a project without being micromanaged a bad thing?

Every other publisher gets shit on for being heavy handed and not allowing project leads creative freedom to do their job instead.

falsem,

That person ends up being the success or failure of the project. If they're doing a bad or mediocre job there's nothing that can change that course because you won't know that until it's too late. The flip-side is that it prevents 'design-by-committee' mediocrity and can allow people with bold visions to express those ideas.

skullgiver, w Cyberpunk 2077 dev warns players to check their PCs' cooling ahead of 2.0 update
@skullgiver@popplesburger.hilciferous.nl avatar

No they didn’t.

Before release CP2077 2.0 and PL please check conditions of your cooling systems in PC. We use all what you have, so workload on CPU 90% on 8 core is expected. To save your time please run Cinebench or similar and check stability of your systems

In other words: CPU load will increase, overclockers with unstable clocks will be more likely so see crashes.

No need to check your cooling, CPUs will be plenty stable unless you messed with your clock speed without significant stability testing.
