This is exactly like you do a proper remaster. I just finished the new expansion and this alone could justify a $40 price point.

kadu, (edited ) w 'Baldur's Gate 3' Is a Staggering Success and a Once in a Decade RPG
@kadu@lemmy.world avatar

I dropped it around the 25h mark, but even I can agree it is a good game that’s probably the current best in the genre

Cabeza2000,

Why you dropped it?

What other games you played in the genre?

orca, w Total War: Warhammer 3 DLC is getting more expensive and the community is rebelling: 'Remember they need us more than we need them'

What do I need to do to have him come rescue me?

Because it’s the Killer Bean! Watch the movie here.

jBlight, w What Twisted Metal's Success Means for Future Video Game Adaptations

I had really low expectations for this show, but after watching it, I was pleasantly surprised at how good it was. Yeah, sure they changed up everything and the “story”, but their adaptation was an entertaining and fun ride.

(Side note: I thought the plant lady was going to be Grasshopper haha)

hadek,

Yeah it suprised me too. Even the gf enjoyed it. Anthony mackie and stefanie bartez had good chemistry

What the hell happened to this series? It started out as a decently interesting game then just degraded into baby garbage.

Cannibal_MoshpitV3, w Larian working on mid-game Baldur’s Gate 3 character customisation

For role play purposes we could add scars and stuff after particularly nasty fights, or maybe face paint/tattoos if your backstory imaginations involve tribalism and body art trophies.

Maybe if Larian feels like it they can have different npcs react if your character changed since they last spoke to you, like suddenly vibrant blue hair is now red

etchinghillside, w Assassin's Creed Mirage has gone gold and is coming out a week early

Haven’t been paying attention – what are we expecting from this one?

ConditionOverload,
@ConditionOverload@lemmy.world avatar

Apparently will be going back to elements that were in the earlier games, with elements from the new one mixed in.

I personally liked the open worlds they created in the last few ones.

etchinghillside,

Yeah, I came into this series late and enjoy the open world and leveling aspects. But had been avoiding Valhalla because I hadn’t really heard great things about it.

ConditionOverload,
@ConditionOverload@lemmy.world avatar

I played a bit of Valhalla but it just took WAY too long to get into the story and I just lost interest. I love Black Flag, Origins, and Odyssey.

Daefsdeda,

Do you actually enjoy it? I am an old time fan and hated it. Hidden blade killing and running away was all the fun. Now you can’t instakill a dude in sneak cause he is higher level. Assassins are sneaky, not warriors. Thats my opinion at lwast.

etchinghillside,

Yeah, I usually pair it up with a more focused game and will switch between the two.

If you only have a bit of time to spend you can explore a bit and obliterate some random camps. If you have more time you can progress through the story.

I think the farthest I’ve gone back is Brotherhood and I think I can draw the line there. In hindsight I just grinded through the story because there was no pacing or anything to tell me otherwise and to go explore – so it’s partially my fault. Also, the last area was a buggy jump puzzle - screw that.

Daefsdeda,

I just really dislike the lvling. Makes the open world feel linear and I find that hidden blading someone should be instakill.

I was in a way overlevel area in origins and sneaked so fricking hard that I could hidden blade the boss. My disappointment was immeasurable when it didn’t instakill…

etchinghillside,

I still have Unity in the backlog to play and wouldn’t mind another playthrough of Black Flag.

Daefsdeda, w RWS (Postal series) We've been told our games are too expensive in some countries but we've been using Steam's recommended pricing for a while. We trust Valve Software enough to not change this.

simple, w A new fan-made port of Wipeout can be played in a web browser

What I’d do for a Wipeout Omega Collection PC port…

This is super cool, though

ABCDE,

How do you actually play it without smashing into the walls?

artillect,
@artillect@kbin.social avatar

You've gotta start turning kinda early to avoid running into walls, and the c and v keys (brake right and brake left) will help you on really tight corners

DarkThoughts,

Never got used to the handling of the ships in Wipeout as a kid. Enjoyed F-Zero X a lot more. Didn't really care for the combat aspects either.

I wish there was a good anti gravity racer for the PC with extensive ship customization and lots of unlockables though (as in playing to unlock, not paying). There's pretty much just small indie titles and most of them aren't even particularly good.

JohnEdwa,
@JohnEdwa@kbin.social avatar

The only two decent ones with that Wipeout feel that I know are GRiP and Redout.

DarkThoughts,

https://store.steampowered.com/app/473770/BallisticNG/
Can't get any closer to Wipeout than that.

Redout feels more like F-Zero imo. GRiP isn't anti gravity racer. Maybe more comparable to Extreme G. Reminds me of my old RC car though.

DarkThoughts,

It's not Wipeout, but BallisticNG might still be interesting for you.

wryan,

Man, I used to love futuristic racers when I was a kid. I put in some serious hours into the Xtreme G and the N64 version of Star Wars Podracer. Freaking Jetmoto... man, those were the days!

simple,

I’ve been aware of it for a while but never got around to playing it, thanks for the reminder!
