Considering their policy doesn't allow for other stuff like this, yeah I am not surprised.

Reminds me of the time when a Spiderman mod removed the VERY few instances of a pride flag in a recreation of NEW YORK CITY and a Skyrim mod that removed any potential gay romances that only occur when wearing a very specific amulet (including a single dead skeleton couple off the beaten path.)
Those got booted as well cause.....come on now. Its blatantly targeting a group of people about their sexuality and gender who have BARELY any presence to begin with in these games.
Starfield is even more egregious as its LITERALLY just a menu option and the rare use in dialogue....
Really pathetic and sad people would even feel the need to make them to begin with. Let alone feel the need to upload them to a platform.
Hopefully development studios can hold strong and continue their boycott anyway. Backing down now basically means Unity got away with it, in a sense. Plus, companies are learning from each other’s shitty tactics lately ala Twitter, Reddit, and Recently Facebook coming out with payment schemes on things that used to be free.
So if Unity does this, other software companies will probably try some similar stuff.
Holy monopoly if that happened. Also imagine the damage to Japanese culture if one of their treasured companies was owned by a company in another country.
I get why PS5 players should be upset, but as a PC player, this is also bad news.
Starfield had to run on the Xbox, the base model of which is the least powerful console on the market (leaving out Nintendo). It seems clear that some decisions around Starfield were made to ensure it would still run on that lackluster hardware.
Doubling down on that for ESVI means the same thing. We’ll get less game so that M$ can have an exclusive.
And that’s ignoring general trust issues with Bethesda entirely.
