WTF? This is worst than I anticipated, because cloud streaming was meh, but this? Are they serious? Who’s going to buy it? Honestly this is so lame, I’m speechless…
So it isn’t even a real handheld, then? Seems like it’s just a thing for people who can’t put a game down long enough to take a shit, and can afford a PS5, but not therapy.
You’re not kidding. Legit looks like someone just took the models from StarCraft and then freshened them up. Protoss Terran Zerg, all of them. In fact you could have removed the context and just showed me the raw footage and I would have arrived at the same conclusion, that it was a mod.
I think that the game exists because all the SC2 pros decided that the game is starting to become a bit too old and blizzard cannot be trusted with making games anymore so they gotta make starcraft 3 themselves.
You’re not wrong. Any and all faith I had in Blizzard went away over the course of the past decade, with it evaporating completely during the past 3 years. I don’t even want to think how they’ll muck up SC3 at this rate.
Interesting. I haven’t played the other SW games but it appears to be two different styles of management sim in one. There’s the aboveground part which looks like a Banished-like, and then the underground game which looks like Evil Genius or something like that…
How else are you meant to interpret this other than it being a bad sign for the studio? Laying off staff in the “home stretch” of a project? I’m sure getting an end game credit will be sufficient consolation for getting ditched at the last stages of a multi year development.
Also no leadership changes either? Not even after andromeda? Sure it’ll be super humbling to sack workers for what seem like incompetent leadership in BioWare since ME3.
Frankly I’m surprised it’s taken this long for BioWare to begin the traditional EA pipeline of being “taken out back” after being squeezed for every bit of profit.
Are we really pretending EA doesn’t do this to every studio that shows a hint of profit decrease? It’s been a major part of their business model for a decade or more.
Unless you’re a game by Bethesda, most people (and most reviewers) are going to assess you at release. If the release is shit, they’re going to stop playing and forget about the game. A patch 12 weeks later won’t help, because everyone has moved on.
These devs have had to work through a full scale invasion of their country. The fact that the game is making progress towards a release at all at this point is borderline miraculous.

Unfortunately I don’t think itll make a difference to whether people buy the games or not. Itll tank performance but itll be in games that people buy regardless of performance. IE Pokemon at launch was in an awful state and still sold like hotcakes
