It’s almost unbelievable that the graphics are this good.
Rockstar always releases their first trailer a little under 2 years out from the planned release date, so 2025 was no surprise.
Also, they are one of the few developers who release the first trailer where it really looks like the end product, so I know it’s legit, and the hair indicates there’s FSR, so it really does seem like this is what we might see on release - but that’s still kind of mind blowing given the gap between this and what’s been out so far.
beamNG was one of the games that drove me to build a new PC this summer with an actually modern CPU. That physics engine is completely unparalleled but damn have you gotta pay for it.
Deep Rock Galactic: Fantasy Edition is looking pretty meh, tbh.
It’s a shame because if you describe it to me on paper, the concept of a co-op game where a group of dwarves build/rebuild Moria or at least a tiny portion of it sounds interesting. But among other things it’d need an art style. I mean it also needs a good one that is evocative of the world Tolkien created, but hey, first of all it needs an art style.
The trailer blew my mind. I’m not a Horror fan at all, but the graphics are straight out of DOS games from my childhood and the soundtrack absolutely SLAPS. The album is on bandcamp and the first track give me massive Donut Ghost House vibes from Super Mario World.
To be specific, it’s build engine mechanics, with modern game ideas, in a cyberpunkish setting; so it’s got a little bit of all those things in it. It’s great!
