I remember back when Treyarch was considered the B team that got the side projects, but even then World at War was the only game in the series I ever really liked.
Such a shame, I would've been more interested in this game, but the similarities to both Breath of the Wild and AC Odyssey meant the itches it scratched were already taken care of for me, and partially by the same publisher, too.
Netflix gaming has existed to support it’s streaming business. I imagine the WB catalog being used for that. At best maybe some native Android and iOS ports of WB games. But I think the highest potential is a GeForce Now competitor except a Netflix catalog rather than Steam
A PC of similar performance is about $550 so I don’t get what they’re saying about it not been priced like a console. That’s about exactly what a Series S would cost.
Used market prices, probably. An 8GB VRAM video card and an appropriate CPU that wouldn’t bottleneck performance could easily fit under $500. I guess nowadays the RAM would be the hangup lol.
I don’t know why people keep insisting that the current prices are relevant. These products have been manufactured for months now, so we need to be looking at old prices not current market value.
I didn’t use prices from last week I used prices from last year because that’s when Steam would have actually made their devices. Manufacturing of the steam machine and the steam frame is rumoured to have occurred around 2023-2024, should the Trump shenanigans shouldn’t have affected things too much.
That’s not to say that somehow much the devices will cost it’s just how much it would have cost to build. How much profit they’re going to try and make on them is an unknown. With the steam deck they aim for $100 profit margin, but who knows with this device. The steam frame is also an unknown because it’s a weird configuration.
Must have been a really slow year given nearly every category has Expedition 33, Death Stranding 2, and Ghost of Yotei. Or the people that came up with the nominees only heard of those 3 games all year and decided to sprinkle in a few randoms to make it look like they have heard of more than 3 games this year.
They’re just games that favor those categories. Even if Peak pops off, it’s not going to win a category like art direction or narrative, ever. It was far from a slow year.
I’m thinking of getting a refurbished Steam Deck OLED and was gonna wait till after christmas but if they announce a successor soon the price might drop even further. But then again if I wait much longer I might as well get the new one. The struggle of being cheap lol.
