Popełniłam taki wpis, gdyż upomniano mnie, że rozwiązuje MMPI-2 poza oddziałem (na ławce przed budynkiem) a jednocześnie sami psychologowie nie mają sobie nic do zarzucenia, gdy sami np. nie dali mi instrukcji.

Karlid, do gaming w Should I stick with The Outer Wilds? (EDIT: yes)

It’s a game about exploring. There is a mystery. There are puzzles. Not much spoon feeding to even find either let alone ‘make progress’. The game expects you to explore to find answers. There is no penalty for dying (it is actually inevitable) other than the time it may take to get back somewhere.

perishthethought,
@perishthethought@lemm.ee avatar

I think I’m wondering if there is more story line or action at some point? I don’t need the story spoon fed to me, but a hint of which direction to go, what sort of thing to do next would be helpful. I guess I’ll just keep looming around and dying often and see if anything else happens.

raunz,
@raunz@mander.xyz avatar

Have you tried just surviving? There’ll be a pretty obvious hint after some time passes

perishthethought,
@perishthethought@lemm.ee avatar

Not sure what that would be like. Just standing still? When does the fun kick in? I’ve died and respawned about 20 times so far. I’m good to keep trying, if there’s some payoff eventually, as you said.

raunz,
@raunz@mander.xyz avatar

Well I guess knowledge is power, and power is kinda fun. There’s a reason many people say this game is special.
If you don’t feel the game right now, that’s ok, you can keep it on your list for later. But please avoid spoilers like the plague.

TheSambassador,

Explore and be curious. Have you visited every planet? Have you been using the ship logs when you’re not sure what to do next?

The game is 100% about exploring and learning about the world.

LucyLastic, do gaming w What type of game you want to see that doesn't fully exist yet?

1: An open world exploration game that doesn’t have combat … like Breath of the Wild but without all the fighting and with lots of short stories and puzzles.

Basically I want to be able to go wandering off and uncover ancient ruins etc without having to fight for my life.

2: Snowrunner, but with a good narrative story mode and gearboxes that actually work.

There’s so much potential to have engaging stories in that game, which could be tied into improved game structure (namely restricting truck / tire choice to make some tasks challenging in an interesting way).

Ultimatenab,

For your #1 point, have you heard of Palia? It got released last month and it is a chill have where you gather and build your house. Additionally you can explore ruins to uncover your origins.

JakenVeina,

Give Outer Wilds a go.

laxu,

This fits OP’s description perfectly. Great game. It’s on PS+ if you play on Playstation 4 or 5.

space,

Wobbly life is like that. It’s targeted more towards children, but my kids absolutely love it.

Faydaikin, do gaming w What type of game you want to see that doesn't fully exist yet?

I think most of what I’d like has already been made. But they are old, few and far between.

I’d really like a modern Freespace game.

I enjoyed how it made your keyboard into a functional cockpit and how you could customize your own and your squads fighters and loadout. And sending tactical info in the thick of battle.

All that junk. It was great. But the old games are showing their age.

adriator, (edited ) do gaming w What type of game you want to see that doesn't fully exist yet?

I really want to play single-player versions, or at least on my own private server, games like Travian or Ikariam. Basically resource management strategies but without the insane need to be 24/7 online in anticipation of an enemy attack.

Edit: Also a single player tab targetting open world rpg.

totallymojo, do gaming w What type of game you want to see that doesn't fully exist yet?

Imagine if Rockstar did a superhero game.
With their satire style on it. Like The Boys style.
Open world, some destructive environment, a deep character creator.

laxu,

That’s basically Saints Row 4.

Faydaikin,
@Faydaikin@beehaw.org avatar

Everything being in a simulation killed it for me, though.

The visually glitching-out NPCs ruined the fun of being a completely unhinged maniac with/without superpowers. Which is kinda what the games are about.

And the constant black skybox became depressing fast.

SR3 does it better, imo. It constantly rides the edge of “How much is movie set? And how much is not?”

luno, do gaming w What type of game you want to see that doesn't fully exist yet?

a racing game that feels like mario kart but for pc

Squids, (edited )

There’s the sonic racing series which has a few ports on PC. I haven’t played them on PC, but I’ve played them on the switch and they’re pretty Mario kart-ish both in playstyle and mascot racer charm.

Also you can play as The Heavy.

LucyLastic,

So, Tux Kart?

Edit: or more old school, Wacky Wheels (I think I still have a copy somewhere)

Ultimatenab,

In think you are looking for dash dash world on Steam.

Something like Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed? It’s been quite a while, but I remember having fun with it. It felt like a Mario Kart kinda game

Dark_Arc, do gaming w What type of game you want to see that doesn't fully exist yet?

I want Quake, DOOM, and Hunt Showdown to have a baby.

Some kind of mad, fast paced, extraction shooter with crazy weapons in a gritty dystopia. Maybe Bungie will come close with Marathon.

Ultimatenab,

I will play the crap out of that as I love all three games mentioned.

Skadabucci, do gaming w What type of game you want to see that doesn't fully exist yet?

An RPG that utilizes LLMs to interact with NPCs in meaningful ways.

Ultimatenab,

I think that is inevitable, and we will see one in the best future.

Littleyush, do games w What games can you recommend that didn't get the appreciation that they deserved?

If you can handle dying a lot while learning the ins and outs of the world, S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Anomaly is a wonderful package completely for free. Especially if you add the G.A.M.M.A. modpack to it, makes the game play significantly deeper, much harder (in some bullshit and also fair ways), but also just crazy immersive; makes you feel like the actions you take do matter, but if you were to die, you’d just be another loot bag for some other Stalker to come across

FireTower,
@FireTower@lemmy.world avatar

I haven’t played Stalker but I did finish Into the Radius which is heavily inspired by it.

Littleyush,

Oh Into The Radius made me shit myself in fear more times than I’d like to admit

Probably one of the best vr titles I’ve played. You really feel the isolation.

I feel like the person posting that in the first place was not really acting in good faith - with as highly politicized as the topic is, and with how much people genuinely care about it given the way people’s rights to just live have been so quickly taken away, posting that was basically lobbing a grenade to watch what happens. It couldn’t just be an innocuous post because by nature of what it was, it wasn’t innocuous, and there was no way to not know that. People were going to get angry and the comment section was, very predictably, both here and in the Starfield comm it was cross posted to, going to turn into a dumpster fire. It felt like, to me, that the OP had an ax to grind, and that came out in their replies to people who were upset. It was by nature an incendiary post, and got incendiary reactions.

librechad, (edited )

The recent exchange surrounding that post has raised serious concerns about the quality of discourse on this platform. Rather than engaging in reasoned debate to dissect the complexities of the issue, many participants seem to resort to inflammatory rhetoric. This unfortunate trend undermines the very purpose of a discussion forum and has led me to reconsider my continued participation here.

ugo,

It is meaningless to engage in bad faith discussions. Are you aware of the paradox of tolerance? Tolerating intolerance only serves the purposes of the intolerant, while the tolerant get pushed aside (which could mean anything from disenfranchisement to death)

Therefore, the tolerant must be intolerant towards intolerance.

There exists no good faith or tolerant argument in which removing pronouns makes sense, it is at its base a message of intolerance.

There are no complexities and no discussions to be had, you are either intolerant yourself, or naïve, if you think this is a topic that can be discussed.

librechad,

The intent of my original post was not to advocate for intolerance, but to question how moderation decisions are made, especially when there appears to be inconsistency. In doing so, I hoped to promote reasoned debate on that specific issue, not to engage in bad faith discussions.

While I understand that certain topics may be inherently fraught, the objective was to consider how platform moderation intersects with issues of free choice and community standards. That said, if the prevailing consensus is that some subjects are too divisive for productive discourse, then that too is a topic worth discussing.

CaptainEffort,

I’m kind of curious to here about Nexus’ inconsistency. As far as I can tell they’ve been pretty consistent if the mod gets their attention. There was a Spider-Man mod that removed a pride flag, and Nexus removed that too. That feels consistent to me.

Brokkr, do games w Are there any reputable independent gaming sites left?

I’m not sure about sites, but many of the old GB people have independent podcasts and streams. Check out Nextlander or The Jeff Gerstmann show. Some of their stuff goes up on YouTube as well.

YouTube is also a good place to find reviews, if you can find a few people who generally like the same stuff you do.

mana,

I’ve tried to get into their branching podcasts. The one I enjoyed the most was probably Fire Escape with Dan, Mike and Mary because they have the strongest group dynamic IMO.

bogdugg, do games w Are there any reputable independent gaming sites left?
@bogdugg@sh.itjust.works avatar

I have two podcasts in my rotation currently:

  • Remap Radio; previously Waypoint Radio, sometimes their politics feel overly dogmatic, perhaps as a reflection of the audience and culture they have cultivated, but the vibes are good and they have insightful things to say. I’d say they are currently in a transition period so they’re still finding their rhythm.
  • 8-4 Play; Started by a localization company based in Tokyo, you’ll get a unique perspective of life in Japan, Japanese games, and industry connections that you can’t really get anywhere else, at least not in English.

Used to listen to the Bombcast, but none of the splinters from what it was appeal to me much. New Bombcast, Nextlander, solo Gerstmann, are all flawed in different ways imo.

mana,

I’ve listened to 8-4 Play on and off for years. I usually check back in with them when a new Monster Hunter game/expansion comes out because few other podcasters I’ve come across really cover it with any depth.
