It’s a game that kinda sprung up out of nowhere and exploded in popularity, but the popularity was well deserved it is a pretty good game. The younger fanbase being a bunch of over excited and obsessed turned off a lot of people, but I feel like it’s a little silly to hate something because kids were acting like children.
I’m confused then. I played through Pacifist and thought I got the true ending. Though I am aware of a different ending if you play a Genocide run beforehand.
I’ve never heard of a neutral run in particular adding anything on subsequent runs.
Once you finished the final boss, you can re-load your last save and there are extra bits you need to do in order to get the full pacifist run and second final boss.
The game won’t start the events that take you there without first completing the neutral run final boss, even if you did a full pacifist run on your first play through.
So, I have only played through the entire game once and it was a Pacifist run. I did the full extended run, reloading my last save and everything.
I started a Neutral run later, but I haven’t even completed it yet.
Edit: I just googled it. You have to view the neutral ending once, which you get at the end of the Pacifist run before reloading. You do not need to do a full Neutral run.
Great game, sadly I never played it because I watched it through Jacksepticeye and by the time I decided to play, I’ve already finish watching his series. Can’t really enjoy a story driven game when you’ve already watched it.
Edit: If you already finished, I really recommend watching Jacksepticeye’s playthrough if you are into watching gameplays.
I was in the same situation but with Ross and Barry playing through it on Game Grumps. Even without playing it myself though, the game is truly something special.
Yes, Jacksepticeye did play the Genocide. Honestly, his reaction is quite funny to watch. I highly recommend his channel. (Not sponsored, just a very devoted fan 😅) Very wholesome Irish lad btw, so far I’ve not seen even one controversy. He’ve also showed support of LGBT+ community so I feel very good watching his channel.
Can you play the first two chapters without ending at a cliffhanger? Have been thinking if I should wait for all of it to release or play the free chapters now.
Up to you, though from the last info we got it seems like things are moving along nicely development wise. The full game should be done by later next year I feel.
I got an enclosure kit from here with a multiconsole PCB (brain for controller). I did research on what buttons and joystick I wanted and ordered them from focusattack and arcadeshock. I liked that I didn’t have to solder everything and they gave me a useful guide for how to set everything up. I linked a build manual in another comment.
But you don’t have to go that way! Depending on your patience and engineering skills you could make a controller out of nearly everything. You could get a cheap PCB from a working controller from a game system you like and a joystick and or some buttons and stick them in an Amazon box if you wanted!
Or, you could do what my buddy did and pick up a kool-aid covered broken street fighter 4 stick off the street, clean it out, and put a new board and joystick in it! It’s up to youuu
Looks great! I built a controller recently too, just wanted to mention that I used the open source GP2040-CE on a Raspberry Pi Pico and it works great, it involved a bit of soldering wires with different connectors together, but there are now custom RP2040 controller boards that can run it and are plug-and-play.
My build was around one of those custom boards, so no soldering for me. It’s perfect for me since I play on PC only and the web configurator is really nice to have for easy SOCD cleaning functionality swaps for different games. I’ll need a Brook adapter if I ever find and go to locals, but I don’t expect that to happen anytime soon.
Mix Masters Online runs Skullgirls every Thursday for NA (other regions will have their own online tourneys). Plus there are beginner brackets, Discords where you can ping beginner roles, danisen leagues, and whatnot for every level of play.
That seems fun! I’ve mostly been playing in beginner/intermediate brackets in this trans fighting game Discord server I’m part of. I have a lot of hours in this game but I never took learning all that seriously until recently.
I'll take this opportunity to plug my YouTube channel, primarily because it will get you up to speed in Skullgirls much more quickly than it took me. There's the primer video here, and you can watch the combo video after that.
