llii, do games w First-party Switch 2 games—including re-releases—all run either $70 or $80

I buy pretty much every console there is, but I’ll pass here. Maybe there will be a price-cut OLED model and a new “Best of Switch 2” Series of games with cut prices (like on GameCube or Wii). Also I want to wait and see if the Joy-Cons 2 get drifting issues.

Am I the only one who doesn’t care about this? We’ll wait for the 33% nintendo sales and fill the rest of the year with 3rd party 80% sales like always

pycorax,

Or get it second hand for cheap lol, it’s not a big deal to me at least.

    Wow this is the most depressing comment section I’ve ever seen.

    threelonmusketeers,

    Yeah, even for Lemmy this is bad. I hope most of them are semi-facetious?

    it’s just standard “haha self harm funi”, it’s so easy to post and reliably gets a few upvotes, so it’s just a kneejerk response to posts like these.

    p03locke, do games w Of course Atari’s new handheld includes a trackball, spinner, and numpad

    ATARI is just a brand name at this point, trying to feed off of people’s nostalgia. There’s nothing left of the company that made this stuff in the 80s.

    NIB, do games w The $700 price tag isn’t hurting PS5 Pro’s early sales

    Meanwhile in Sweden, it is 944 USD.

    acosmichippo,
    @acosmichippo@lemmy.world avatar

    does that include a VAT?

    NIB, (edited )

    Yes but even with 25% VAT, it should have been 875 USD. And in other countries, it is 800€ (830 USD). Amazon.de sells it for 800€(sold by Amazon) and even delivers it to Sweden(for 15€). Amazon.se doesnt have the ps5 pro for some reason.

    I think Sony was willing to take a small loss in Eurozone, so that it can have a nice round price(800€).

    cyberpunk007, do games w Sega is delisting 60 classic games from Steam, so now’s the time to grab them

    This is also why I often buy games on gog that I already “own” on steam.

    TBi,

    This is why I “acquire” games I already own on steam. Or buy first from GoG. I’m not paying twice for same game.

    cyberpunk007,

    Sometimes they’re not on gog and I want to play them. Other times it’s 4$ on steam and 50$ on gog. I’ll buy it for 4 on steam so I can play it, then wait for the sale on gog down the road.

    Anyone can ELI5 this thing? I’m pretty lost

    Stern,
    @Stern@lemmy.world avatar

    Twofold: One, they lost a case in arbitration that basically said arbitration isn’t usable.

    Two: Lot of companies do arbitration to avoid court, which works fine and is cheaper if you’re not getting taken to court much. If 75,000 people that could do a class action suit all go to arbitration though, the benefit is lost. Lawyers threatened that. 3 grand a arbitration case x 75,000 people == 225 million dollars on fees alone.

    away2thestars,
    @away2thestars@programming.dev avatar

    Thank you, when does steam need to do arbitration?

    Stern,
    @Stern@lemmy.world avatar

    Previously, any time they’d normally go to court, which was fairly rare, per the article.
