The most likely reason is that the outline of the device is more distinct and identifiable in the marketing with them on. Without them it is just a black rectangle with a logo.
Played it a bit so far and the controls are really unique. Definitely needs a lot of learning to get somewhat competent, but also very powerful when mastered. I’d be surprised if this isn’t going to become my favorite platformer of the year.
That said, the tutorial level (1-0) feels rushed. Very confusing pacing and camera transitions as well as bad audio mixing. Thankfully I haven’t seen any of those issues again in any of the proper stages.
I’m quite enjoying it. I like the addition of the Heat systems, both giving an opportunity for special attacks without waiting to be nearly dead first and giving (healable!) chip damage. Making it timed - but triggered - adds a layer of strategy for when to kick it off.
It’s fun!
Whether it’s the “best” in the series is gonna be a matter of taste, but this is definitely a stronger game all around than 7.
