I’m not surprised. I knew this was going to be bad from the first trailer. This movie had trouble being made for a while, being shot in 2021 then had re-shoots in 2023 from another director I believe.
Also didn’t a writer want their name removed from the credits?
The casting choices are really questionable here. Looks like the casting was done to bring in a generic movie going audience that watches movies based on the cast, but this was only going to succeed by appealing to the actual fan base. Jack Black and Kevin Hart don’t need to be in every movie. I’m surprised Chris Pratt isn’t in this honestly.
I have no doubt that Eddings wouldn’t want to have anything to do with anything remotely close to Pitchford after that kind of treatment. If he did, that’s a toxic as fuck environment to create.
Same, though interested is an understatement. Prey is one of the greatest games I’ve ever played. I enjoyed Weird West, but it left me feeling more like a POC of what the studio wants to do than anything up to the actual standards of Arkane’s best.
If WolfEye fills the void of Arkane’s deplorable closure, they’ll get all the support I can give.
it’s great as a piece of historical intrigue, but as others have said here, some of it just does not hold up. Controls are a little clunky, and the story is fine but no longer nearly as interesting or surprising as it was back in 2008. Nowadays, you can’t go to Steam without tripping over 3 indie puzzle platformers with better controls and story. I think the puzzle design probably still holds up, but i haven’t played recently so i can’t say for sure.
