I really liked the beginning of snow runner. But then every misdion turned into helping oil companies construct pipelines, it’s depressing…

endeavor,

I dont give a fuck about the story, I’m tired of driving back and forth along the same road with the same as there is little incentive to take anything but the route that can carry the biggest trailer the fastest.

Currently watching Kolo who’s freaking out over the accessibility options enabling her to actually play Doom for the first time.

LordGimp,

Oh good now we can give motion sickness to the handicapped.

Like I’m not gonna say it’s not good for them, but everybody has a limit on how much ripping and tearing they can do before the headache sets in.

Also fuck ID software in perpetuity over the shit they put mick Gordon through.

bjoern_tantau,
@bjoern_tantau@swg-empire.de avatar

You can also deactivate all the screen shaking, adjust the viewing angle, and reduce the overall game speed. Plenty of options to alleviate motion sickness.

But yeah, the music is also pretty bland without Mick Gordon.

On PC, this would be a short visit to the graphics menu. Not much of a remaster at all.

It’s only 10 bucks to upgrade, but to be honest it’s not even worth that. Ah never mind, there’s quite a bit of extra content included.

Tibert, do games w Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora - OpenCritic Review Thread

Hmm, from the average and some reviews here and there, it’s sad the game is just mixed.

It’s the first to get out with fsr 3 frame gen working mostly well. Fsr upscalling working mostly well, which is very unexpected due to a lot of foliage.

Tho the ui protection to frame gen was implemented in a very shitty way (just a box without frame gen arrount it…).

Amazon actually going to have release day delivery on this one. That’s not normal for them these days.

TheChancePants, do games w Armored Core VI Review Thread (85/100)

How do these games compare to the Souls games? I know nothing about AC, but have gotten way into Souls since Elden Ring came out

NinjaYeti76, (edited )
@NinjaYeti76@mastodon.social avatar

@TheChancePants they don't compare at all to the souls games. Armored Core existed alongside King's Field and they were nothing alike. You could relate that to the comparison of the latest Armored Core and Elden Ring. They are by the same developer but completely separate. --edit typo

hogart,
@hogart@feddit.nu avatar

They are both third person games where you kill stuff! But about as similar as Mario and Kirby, also both made by the same developer :)

Redonkulation,

They are mission based and very fast paced. AC games are generally pretty challenging and designed to be replayed a lot for mastery and for trying out different mech loadouts as you unlock parts and weapons over time.

Difficulty and weirdness in the story wise? Very similar.

How the game actually feels to play? Totally different. AC is more of a hardcore arcade action game. One part MechWarrior, one part bullet hell shooter. I’m surprised to see it hasn’t really changed much from AC2, the last AC I ever played.

Some of the levels are fucking epic as hell. One of the missions I’ve done so far, you have to take down this massive building sized tank on legs, and it’s like the size of a level in and of itself. You’re already in a giant mech that dwarfs a human, and this structure made me feel like just a regular dude fighting a skyscraper.

I’m so looking forward to finally playing the game tomorrow! The demo was already very fun. The price point with 40€ seems really neat compared to all the full price titles constantly releasing.

Been thinking about picking this one up

theangriestbird,

same! it looks really good, and the writing especially seems unusually great for a game of this type.

sharkfinsoup,

The writing is exceptionally well done as is everything else about the game. The story is nothing crazy but the dialogue and characters are where the writing really shines. If you’re a fan of the genre, this is definitely worth picking up especially since it’s only $20.

theangriestbird, do gaming w Tactical Breach Wizards | Review Thread

I know this has been out for like a week now. But have you seen this game? It looks sick as hell! And it has defenestration!

harrys_balzac,

You should have led with the defenestration. I told myself I wasn’t going to buy any games with this paycheck…sigh unzips wallet

theangriestbird,

part 3 of the Defenstration Trilogy!

Honestly these look pretty good. So I’m excited to play it once get free time. My only hope is that it’s polished and bug free.

Oh is it time already? I’m not ready!!! After playing Like A Dragon as my first Yakuza game, I decided to play originals first, before Infinite. Finished 0, 1 and 2 and currently just started Yakuza 3…

I’ve seen somewhere that due to some storylines, it’s preferable to have played original Kiryu saga first, so as much as I want to jump in, it will have to wait

Boiglenoight,

I’m stuck in 3. Going from 2 to 3 is…tough :)

andrew_bidlaw,
@andrew_bidlaw@sh.itjust.works avatar

They won’t disappear anywhere so you can take your time. Blockuza is comfy and way less complicated than forth and fifth game, but all have something to them (:

Boiglenoight,

It feels like they threw Japan’s Hawaii into the mix. And I enjoy the story for sure. That downgrade in graphics, where you can go. When 2 let me enter familiar buildings I was pleasantly surprised.

QubaXR,
@QubaXR@lemmy.world avatar

Sounds like we are in precisely the same boat. I found 3 is a great match for Steam Deck, and feels right at home on that small screen (and runs great).

Boiglenoight,

That sounds wonderful. I’m playing Alan Wake 1 on SD. It looks better on that than my high end PC. Unfortunately I have 3 on PS4.

QubaXR,
@QubaXR@lemmy.world avatar

Consider installing Chiaki or Chiaki4Deck on your SD. It allows you to stream PS4/5 games on your own network!

Boiglenoight,

Man, the SD is amazing. I’ll keep that in mind.

I cannot wait for this game to come out! I’ve been playing these since literally the first one, on the Playstation. This was so long ago they didn’t even have numbers.

loren, do gaming w DOOM: The Dark Ages | Review Thread

This game is honestly my biggest let down in a while. I refunded it after a little under 2 hours because of horrible performance because of forced RT and bad gameplay.
