this is the first i’m hearing about SurrounDead. I just looked it up, i’ll have to pick it up at some point, especially with multiplayer coming at some point apparently
It goes on sale pretty regularly, and the dev is super active over at the subreddit, and will answer questions anyone has almost daily. %100 worth the pickup.
I recall a lot of AW1 being a fun challenge on Nightmare, but I was also playing it with a bunch of friends and we were chatting and socialising at the same time.
I do recall some enemies and segments feeling artificially hard though.
I’ve never actually played through AW1 on Nightmare as I was afraid the challenge would be unfun, but maybe I will in the future based on your testimony. Though I find it increasingly hard to go back and replay games these days with the size of my backlog…
Nightmare though, at least for me, isn’t as difficult as I expected it to be. It’s a nice challenge up from Normal mode I’ve been making my way through and cleaning out my Backlog. I have over 250 games I need to play. So I try and stick with just one and work through it
Oh yeah. Now that I mention it I think I remember that. There’s an Alan Standee near it too I think. Interesting to think they were at least that far planned ahead with the DLCs. I always assumed they were a Post Release decision
Have fun with the replay btw! I may be biased but the series is one of the greatest imo
I’ve been procrastinating buying Satisfactory because I’m currently playing Oxygen Not Included (scientific space colony sim) and I only have room for one game to consume my life at a time.
Nope. Entirely Vanilla. I try to avoid modding until I fully beat the game at least once. Plus I had a headache with Modding Skyrim on my Steam Deck so I try to avoid it now unless I really want a mod
It was not easy to mod, but tbh the majority of available mods are simple bug fixes, lod fixes, and crash prevention mods. I only have one visual, which is just hd textures. So the modded game is really the same but with fewer crashes and less texture popping.
Honestly I really enjoyed it. It had a different tone than the base game or the other DLCs and I really enjoyed the linearity of it too. The story was really good too. I liked finding out what the courier did there and then talking to Ulysses in the final confrontation. I feel like being able to talk him down using multiple checks is a good showcase of the freedom of the games.
Same. I’m glad you liked it and probably turned others onto another NV playthrough. I can’t play atm, and I feel jealous c:
The only thing you’ve missed is the super challenging instance that forms in the place of a camp you’ve chosen to destroy with leftover nukes. It adds nothing to the fallout experience, but if you want your ass beaten repeatedly, here you are. You can try to load your save and choose to nuke NCR\Legion and then travel to their base. These are small highly irradiated locations with high tier threats and LR-tier loot, nothing unique iirc. These fights feel 2x tighter than these tight fight moments in the original DLC.
In the first mission of Battlezone, it’s possible to travel out of the map and find a 1960s lunar lander that you can enter and pilot. It’s equipped with a one of a kind super weapon that plays trance music as you fire it.
Unfortunately it’s only available in the first mission and you can’t take it with you to subsequent missions.
Obligatory mention of Viva New Vegas modlist for someone that gets the itch to play for the first time. It makes the game run like a dream, and if you want to add some QoL there is a section for that too. Everything well explained and easy to install.
