A favorite of mine!

Alan Wake is definitely in my Top 10 games. Possibly holding the #1 spot even

solsangraal, do games w Day 89 of posting a Daily Screenshot from the games I’ve been playing until I forget to post Screenshots

i wanted to like alan wake, but just couldn’t get into it. might have something to do with having played control before i tried alan wake

I’ve heard some people say they don’t like the controls and linearity of it, which I could see. Especially the controls. Maybe it’s one of those?

Wow, you’ve gone at least 50 more days than I would (because I’m forgetful).

MyNameIsAtticus,
@MyNameIsAtticus@lemmy.world avatar

I’m honestly the same way. I was fully expecting to just forget a day, and though I’ve had some close calls just because life got in the way, I’m happy I’ve gotten this far

Absolutely incredible game. One member of my exclusive collection of games which might be the best games I’ll play in my life.

I’m still not certain why I enjoyed the game so much. Sure the artistic vision is incredibly executed and the game is really unique. But as a matter of fact psychosis is not a pleasant experience and I’m grad I can turn the game off whenever I please. How do you feel about this duality of a awful experience but still an enjoyable one?

sheogorath,

Although it’s very dangerous to play the game if you had mental illness history. Playing the game triggered a psychosis episode for my friend who was admitted to a psychiatric hospital.

I’m so bad at this game lol

MyNameIsAtticus,
@MyNameIsAtticus@lemmy.world avatar

It can be brutal sometimes. Even more so if you’re my friend who refuses to knock on doors before entering to check for zombies

JusticeForPorygon,

Ngl when my friend introduced me I had a little fun with that mechanic when I discovered it.

I always go for shoving the door over whispering to draw their attention

Fable 5?

stringere,

Oi it’s chicken chaser!

kmartburrito, do games w Random Screenshots of my Games #19 - The Exit 8

This game is pretty awesome in VR. It’s a relatively new release if memory serves, even though the exit 8 non-VR has been out for a while.

EarWorm, do games w Currently downloading The Witcher 3 for the first time. Got any advice for me?

No not use any DLC equipment. While the combat in the game is far from perfect, using the viper gear (I think that’s what it’s called) ruins it further.

beware the botchling (don’t progress to far to fast, level up or things like the botchling will be frustrating)

As someone who’s owned the Witcher 3 since it came out, LMAO I have no idea. I never played that game.

wolfshadowheart,

I gave it about a three hours and got pretty bored, sadly. Just for me though, it was also a mood thing.

Mango,

I just haven’t had a PC that can run it smoothly since I got it.

Mango,

Don’t assume what I know and don’t know. My life situation is the issue. I just built an OP PC for a rich friend and I’m sticking with my Steam Deck while I save up.

Nuke_the_whales, do games w Currently downloading The Witcher 3 for the first time. Got any advice for me?

Don’t let the upgrade, potion, etc system overwhelm you. My brother gave up cause it seemed too complicated for him. If you mostly ignore it and just play for a bit, it comes naturally

Knitwear,

This is what made me quit too

Nuke_the_whales,

Like I told my brother. Just explore, do minor quests, gather ingredients and items. Once you have enough ingredients to make a potion or oil, the menu literally tells you and you can do it in one button click.

flux, do games w Currently downloading The Witcher 3 for the first time. Got any advice for me?
@flux@lemmy.world avatar

Pay attention. The game wouldn’t always lead you to what you need to do. Some times you’ll have to figure things out. There isn’t just a marker on the map for what you need to do next. That messed me up because half the time I was following a marker but then there would be a line about giving someone an item or something in my inventory I missed. Ignore 100%ing every quest. Learn to parry and roll. Also, explore! I’ve run into very cool side quests! It feels really cool to just stumble into a story before a character even sends you out on the quest.

Just one: enjoy.
